Swap-Shop...not the TV version.

A year ago I had a panic attack that the head gasket had gone on my original Merc W123-230..this is when I was in the middle of the desert..so I ordered one online from the biggest Mercedes dealer here in Melbourne.Of course..it hadnt gone..it was actually just the valve cover seal...but i had paid $240 for it.So I then drove 3000 kms here to Melbourne and had to pick it up as it had been shipped from Germany and was non -refundable.I tried selling it online..no takers..and also strangely amassed 8 white hub caps thru the red 300D and silver300D parts car versions both having come with a set...i had no use for them becos Id kept the 14' Bundt alloys of Old Whitey...two weeks ago...at my favourite Merc breakers-suppliers..really nice down to earth blokes..family business..i spotted a pair of super-rare headlight protectors on a 300D they were breaking..ill have them i said...so today i went for advice..sod it..ill give them all this stuff i have no need for..and what ho...they gave me the protectors for free even tho i insisted id pay for them....this is just a mock up..

 

I really like supporting genuinely friendly and helpful business' like this..theyve been so kind to me..
