Peugeot 607 hits the bottom

I have been looking for a few 607 parts and found one that was being broken for spares.

It's a year 2001 2.2 petrol.

Apparently it is being broken for spares because no one wants it, rather than actually having anything wrong with it.

This seems a terrible waste.

It seems that any tiny fault on a 607 sees it being broken for parts rather than being repaired.

Ironically I have been searching for an offside fog light for ages and I'm starting to think that they aren't being made any more. Peugeot are also unable to find a replacement cruise control stalk for me.

I think in a few years these cars will have totally disappeared just like 605s.

Yeah like My Safrane V6 i noticed how rare the parts have become and thats why with great pain i bought a roadworthy car and broke it,the parts are near impossible to get.

If i was you and you have the space try and buy a breaker now while you can and get everything you want, before its to late.

I really like the 607 nice car but not much of a fanbase bit like a Safrane, they will vanish overnight.

Sadly just one of those cars nobody wanted new and even fewer want now. There's nothing wrong with them other than that fact they're nothing more than big 406s in the eyes of most folk.

Yep :( Although to be fair, it's hard to find a bargain 3.0 V6 - they seem to keep fetching strong money.

Have to say, I owned a 2.2 HDi Auto last summer, and as nice as it was to drive, did nothing better than a Vel Satis and looks completely anonymous in the process. One mighty impressive factor was the mileage readout of 189000 miles and there wasn't an ounce of wear anywhere on the car, even the drivers seat looks like new. It did, however, warn of low coolant in 2 out 3 journeys but of course the level was absolutely fine. Not bad at all.

But all in all, it was almost as unremarkable as the Primera I had one month previous. Not what you want from a French Luxobarge :(

I just cant get enthusiastic about them sadly, all the ingredients are there except a hatchback/estate model. 4-dr saloon is no good for me as I like to carry loads of shit everywhere.

Likewise. They're not the interesting sort of different that the Vel Satis and C6 are, they're just bland and anonymous.

The 607 shares many parts with other generic PSA stuff... So the CC stalk from a Citroen Xsara Picasso should* be compatible with a 607.

I like them, everything seemed to be quite well placed and the spec even on true shiters, was excellent.
