MG ZR Head Gasket

Naa, haven't lifted a finger to the MG yet, other than rolling it out of the garage as I've been given notice.

I'm eager to get it stripped down to see if any part of the engine will be salvageable, actually there is nothing really stopping me other than the inclination, as I've so many other projects on at the same time and very little cash.

I have the cam lock tool now.. and the Haynes manual and after reading it it seems I need a second special tool* to rotate the cams to get at some more bolts... which begs the question WTF is the cam lock tool needed for if I'm moving the cams anyways.

*it does also suggest I can make one.

EDIT. I'm kind of using the excuse that the car is going to have to be recovered to my new lock up and if I have it in bits, putting it in gear on the lorry could unsettle the engine, so I'm thinking of waiting until it's at it's new home.

This is one that arrived at my friends scrapyard.

This month's Car Mechanics magazine has a feature on K-series head removal.

Awesome, I'll have a look at that - may even buy the magazine of it looks more help than Haynes. Thanks

That's gonna be a popular one isn't it HA!
