Ford air filter adaptor

Bit of a long shot but here goes...

 

At some time in the past, someone has replaced the VV carb on the Cortina with an older Autolite/Motorcraft jobbie, and to allow the fitting of the orginal air filter there is an adaptor on the carb. Thus...

 

 

Now as as you can see IT R BROKUN. This is due to the fact that it was a bit loose, so I tightened it up

 

So the thing is, does anyone have one kicking around in their shed? I presume it was something that was available back in the day, rather than being something someone made as a one off.

Is it possible to carefully drill and peg repair the adaptor with a strong glue/resin perhaps ?

Yes, I recon it could be repaired. I just thought someone might have one.

 

If all else fails I recon a big hose clip round it would pull it together. It doesn't have to be pretty!

The part is made or supplied by webcon as part of a weber conversion kit

Ahhh, so it's a Weber conversion it's got on, I hadn't looked too closely and assumed it was an old ford carb.

If it's reasonable alloy could weld it up for you.

 

Or use it to make another.
