The magnificent Saab 9-5 Aero I bought a couple of months ago is going to have to go due to its excessive drinking habit.

 

I've been looking on the web at previous generation Honda Civics (1.6 flavour) that seem pretty cheap for what they are.

The ex Mrs P had a 1.4 and it was capable although gutless. Is the 1.6 a reasonable proposition and are there any particular gremlins to watch out for (other than dullness)? Type S and Type R are both appealing but too thirsty.

Miss alf has a 1.6 type s. The type s bit is just a bodykit I think and fuel cons seems ok. She has only had it a year and the only problem has been the factory battery dying. Oh..........I had to have it painted as the red had gone pink and it is under a clear coat

God knows what type is what but I had a 1997 1.4i that was ace. Arches rusted etc but still a cracking little car.
