The Commission is writing separately to all the newspapers concerned, none of which checked the facts with us before publication.

Now that's a surprise!

I accept this, but if a car is deemed not historic enough to be MOT exempt it's hardly a stretch to see it being deemed not tax exempt at the same time.

At present, lots of cars that are not exempt from the MOT test are exempt from tax (ie all the 1960 to 1972 cars). The two issues are separate.

If something like this comes in (and that's an if), then the UK would have to drop the pre 1960 no test rule in respect of cars that have been modified, but this would hardly be a mega big deal.

Can we please have a volunteer lawyer and/or a police officer who regularly clarifies things like this on the forum? Stuffs like SOGA too, a heated debate that I haven't been bothered to read about on here.

A similar idea was postulated on the original (ie not scripted) Ricky Gervais shows when they used to ring up real doctors/biologists to shoot down Karl's babble :P
