Simca 1100 abandoned restoration

No -not me!

I went to see this today, in Frome Somerset. This gold 1100 hatch (1972 -so historic) was taken off the road by the current owner in 1982 (yes 30 years back) and he's finally decided that he's not going to get it done.

So -its stripped out, running gear on the deck & most of the front end welding done. The suspension seems to have been overhauled, the engine/box untouched- still free. The sills have been removed and new replacement 2 & 4 door ones come with it. Inner sills (flat plate) need replacing prior. The rear end is the major issue -the mounts for the rear beam have gone -which really means a total strip off, rollover & weld up. Front suspension & steering will need refitting to roll out, but he'll probably be able to help with that.

Comes with a stack of spares inc many panels (most 2nd hand good)

Its still do-able, but its too big a project for me -although I'll take it -if forced - to save it in the ''maybe one day'' corner.

I forgot to take pics- but can give an accurate description if anyone's interested.

Asking £300. Give me a shout, I'll pass on details. I strongly suggested he join here, as his 'other' is a bright yellow SE5a. Truly a shiteist.

Hope someone takes this on. Great little cars.
