Guest Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Does anyone possess one I can come and have a quick go on please? I need to be able to cut a slot in some thick walled tube without blowing out the other side. Wall thickness will be from 5mm to 0.5 inch. Need to see if practicable before shelling out for one. Thanks
CYANIDE STEVE Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I don't know off hand but I'll have an ask around. I'm not a million miles from you.
DSdriver Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I've got an old arc welder that is pretty good at making holes in metal when I use it. It went missing for about fifteen years I reckon. Asked everyone I knew if I'd lent it to them but all denied knowledge. I spotted it last weekend under some junk at my parents place. I must dig it out and have a go on something.
whitevanman Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Yes you can do that with a plasma cutter, I have several time you just set it to cut through the required thickness, might burn the dirt of the other side but it won't cut through
whitevanman Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 deffinately, I got a second hand one of Ebay, from a recon company, cost £208 inc delivery....best toy I have bought in years, watch out for the cheap Chineese ones though, they can be hit or miss..
