Another mk3 Grandad. these were practically worthless by the late '90s, and in this case with good reason- nice comfy car but they were seriously undergunned with only a 2 litre pinto to drag it along, and it was little better on fuel than the 24v

That's more like it..in a kind of perverse logic, I don't mind shite MPG if the car's got a honking big V8 to justify it. 1981 chevrolet caprice classic. wish I'd kept that one too

Brief foray into lost-cause shite rescue. this triumph 1300 FWD threw away its chance of salvation when its engine fell out due to advance rot in the front subframe mounts.

Eek! I spy a mk1 Rover 800 to left of this pic. My heart almost went as I read what is captured of the plate. My old Sterling was E74.... Looks as if it was a Sterling going by the 2 tone colour on the bumper, I would have loved to see a whole pic of the car.

 

The Gold thing in the garage was an Escort, TDG8X, last saw a tax disc in 1993, one of yours?

no not my escort. Well spotted on the rover- it was indeed a sterling, two tone IIRC. it was just left there for about 2 years, looked really tidy. The people who owned it GAVE it to some random person working on their car in the garages when I wasn't there, I coveted that the whole time it was there.
