My friend in Iran is restoring this Green Méhari, I have not been able to find examples of these body-types anywhere else except in Iran, is that true?

Designs seemed specific to local citroen factories but there were similarities

That thing has a metal body, whereeas the "proper" Mehari had a plastic one.

 

Your friend can buy an original body here but shipping to iran would be difficult

The Dalat/Baby Brousse appear to have a similar body to the Iranian Mehari.

Snap ! except the fibreglass roof lifts off on these...

 

 

Very similar in design to the Mehari, but with Hillman Imp running gear on the HUSTLER 1

 

produced here is their hundreds in the mid 70's, later versions (Hustler II) had Vauxhall/ GM /Chev chevette front engines,

 

so had to be heavily revised to accomodate a gearbox protruding into the passenger space.

 

( hope this is not stealing your thunder, Shahin.) There were a few Mehari's loafing about too, most are put out to pasture,

 

as no-one understands citroen engineering here

NO!... He is painstakingly restoring it to its original Iranian Metal body condition!.... sorry the plastic bids won't help him + Mehari plastic parts are included in the latest Embargo toward Iran!
