DSdriver Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I have scanned in some photos that were taken in the late sixties/seventies, some of cars I owned and others of roadside spots. My 2nd car, a V4 Ford Corsair taken at Layhams Farm I think. It was a night PCT (production car trial) which involved getting as far up a hill in a field as you could, keeping between the posts which were cunningly placed to make it hard for a mini, let alone this old beast. This was my next car, a HB Vauxhall Viva Brabham (in stealth mode with the stripes taken off the front). This was at an autotest which may have been the cause of a broken crankshaft. Picture was taken by Jeff Bloxham who also took our wedding photos. We got married in a bit of a hurry so his motorsport credentials came in handy.Chris Richardson and I bought this Riley 1.5 to hoon about in. I think we used it for one summer then scrapped it, selling the reg number for what we paid for the car.Citroen 11BL (traction avant big fifteen). I kept this for a few years then sold it to buy our DS Pallas which we have had since 1986. I think it went back to France. It was still on french plates all while I had it. Experts will note that it had a Slough front bumper because the previous owner had crashed it.This chap was rebuilding the dif on his transporter by the roadside when I happened along. He had a Bugatti on the transporter (pics to follow later) and this Mercedes on a trailer. Not surprising the dif gave out. I remember he was on his way to Holland with them for restoration. The badge says British Mercedes Benz, the British bit having been added on in a true brit wonky way.We were driving back from a holiday on the Isle d'Oleron when I glimpsed a load of old cars in a garage so we turned round and went back to have a look. I haven't a clue what they all are so over to you chaps...
