Little update on how things are going for the little pug.

As it turns out I was wrong and it does have a cambelt, it's definitely worth keeping an eye on it - in all likelihood it'll still be the one it left the factory with...

Defo a belt mate. It looks* fine!!! I''m a firm believer in karma and having washed and painted it recently am pretty sure it won't leave me stranded with OMG CAMBELT BROKED ENGINE TRAUMA.

Slapped some pog and paint on it's flanks to improve it's appearances/chances of resale. After lot's of time and effort I've settled for slightly less than perfection but meh, it'll do just fine. Tried on some new shoes I've got laying about too but the centre bore's a shade to small.

The filter was filthy and to avoid a trip to the factors I've chucked a pod type one on I had kicking about. Also added a new breather from the carb as the old one was well dodge. Runs sweeter than ever with added induction ROAR from the mighty 954 powerhouse.

Added some yellow (painted) side light bulbs for that string of garlic and stripy jumper look.

Back up for grabs :)

Special never to be repeated autoshite discount price of £250. Yep that's a whole £130 more than I got it for but it's now OTR and much* improved.

Has rent in the window till the 5th month of the year and ticket till erm, best part of a year, will check. From what I can remember it has had a brand new second hand tyre (4 good and spare's round with air in), lower arms x2 and a track rod end, new oil, water (proper blue stuff) changed when I did the head gasket. Running the pod filter but OE airbox included for FREE.

May have new plates but a mates doing them for a favor so don't count on it, old plates are a bit shabby/add appeal and the selotape on the front one is doing a sterling job. Much time spent hammering, filling, sanding and then spraying the bodywork so it looks a fair bit more presentable. Could be better but took ages to get it where it is now and TBH I can't be arsed. Very rust free as these often are, underside pretty tidy too.

Clutch is a tad ropey and that's as far as my investigation is likely to get TBH. The clutch rattles a bit at cold and smooth pull aways are a rewarding challenge. Been using it mainly around the houses for the last 2000ish miles so nay bad and personally wouldn't bother doing anything with it until I had to.

Oh yeah, I've 'ruined' it with a front end lowering job. Being a softly sprung french car it still rides alright and doesn't understeer half as bad whilst stopping a dammed sight quicker too. New spring can be had for the price of a bacon sandwich or you can have the coils to weld back on :P

Genuine orginal fit quality radio casette (sadly locked)

Seats clean but cloth ripped on drivers and split on rear bench. Had a go of carpet cleaner machine at work so interior at it best and you can have my wilko front seat cover if you like.

Washers on a flick switch now discreetly fitted in dash, never investigated the switch on the woggle toggle arm thing but did fit new pump

'bout 79 thou on the clock and still in use. Needs to go as it will spur me on with the nearly ready Cortina and I've just got my bike back on the road today for mingebag daily duties :D

That's about it, thought I'd put up here first and then if no interest I'll wack it on RR in a few days and then that auction site if no joy.

Looks like a bargainous bag of fun to me!

Wanna buy it ???

Been fun and I'm sure I'll miss it but it's gotta go. Thought I'd see if anyone wanted it here first as it would be nice for it to stay in the fold as it were. If not then silver wheel paint and ebay beckons :)

Good to meet you Will, and cheers for the cuppa! :)

Made it without issue back across town, although the non-Sat Nav route took us right through the city and down Liverpool Street, before I was able to use the force and guide us NW towards Camden / Swiss Cottage...

Looking forward to many miles (hopefully :P ) of peasant spec fun!
