Knebworth Autojumble Sunday

Last year was a bit crap, not sure about going as 8 pounds a head entry takes the piss, but 25 for a pitch on the day seems quite reasonable, now I'm wondering if I should scramble around gathering up all the old chod that's kicking around since dropping ebay, just wondering what the experience would be like, anyone here done similar? Is it a rewarding episode, meeting interesting folk while clearing out clutter, heading home weighed down with pockets full of coin, or a hateful experience being baited by the great unwashed?

Can't decide whether to go or not....it's literally 15 mins down the road from me . Looks like it might piss down any minute aswell.

I do quite enjoy mooching round the stands though....

I didn't bother going, the sky did look pretty grey this morning. pity as I had good intentions of trying to get rid of some clutter. I had a sort through 'stuff' during the week while trying to decide about booking a pitch, I started off thinking I didn't have much chod left, but once it was all in one pile I began to realise it mightn't all fit in the van, lot's of low value crap but still a good amount of tasty stuff, the sort of stuff that used to fetch silly amounts on ebay. Don't really know what to do, maybe wait for a decent autojumble, or should I again swallow my pride and whore some bits off on ebay, no, I must be strong.

I did go in the end, but quite frankly wished I hadn't bothered!

It was £8 to get in and the selection of cars was 'paltry' ...and I feel I'm being generous by saying that. They'd linked it to a motorbike event which had a much better turn-out but was of little interest to yours truly.

So I had a bit of the arse at my waste of eight quid.... and then my camera batteries ran out after 10 photos so I had the even bigger arse.

The bloke doing the arena commentary was a complete knob-head with nothing interesting to say about the crappy cars in the ring apart from "How long you 'ad it, mate" or "Them wheelz is bling aint they, mate."

Then I saw these smug twats with their picnic table and flask sitting behind what made the whole trip worthwhile...a '98 S reg Subaru Impreza Turbo. PULEEZE!! I can see those for nothing in Kwik-Save car park day in day out...and I don't even look at them then.......why would I pay £8 to look at yours! Oh! And next to that was a '95 M plate Jeep Grand Cherokee. What??

So I stomped off back to the car park and went home.

Here's the pics I did take:

I'm guessing it's a "Greenwood exhibitions" affair going by the entry fee and commentating?
