Pissed off with a mate's local recently, to top it all they were shut tonight - went back to his spot and looked at all the possibilities. I suggested a supposed now posh-ish place I hadn't been to since the early 90s when it was run (bloody well) by proper old fash peeps. Rolled up, right posh'n'nasty-looking fashionable middle-aged rich types coming out and getting into a very expensive white Audi estate (hi there if you're reading this but I'd be surprised!) so I go up to door, muttering 'this place is not me etc.

Owner/chef and his wife come out before I open the door and are all over the Traction Avant, love the shabbyness etc. Tcalss, the best night I've spent in a boozer for a few years. Top people, excellent beer, food at the bar which eaters have passed over, great time had. Also Series 1 Landy and pre-war other stuff round the back - made my night!! Even the dogs were invited in and encouraged to antagonise the cat. Amazing. Still pinching meself.
