shite 1988 (E reg) Micra -part required, steering lock

Love the name of the site.

 

Someone mentioned the Beaulieu autojumble, the biggest in the country last weekend.

I searched online for it, then thought searching 30 acres was not really the most productive of my time.

 

I'm looking for a steering lock for my 1988 Nissan Micra.

The car was stolen & the scrote broke the old lock.

 

Various people have made excellent suggestions on breakers & ebay.

I've tried all that over last few months with no success.

 

There are quite a few old Micras still on the road, once I went to Bridges scrapyard near Crawley, they had 10 Micras in, but they were all after 1988 !!

 

I need a steering lock from a 1988 (E reg) or pre-1988 car, as the lock changes to a 2 bolt version after that year.

 

Mine is the 4 bolt version, see photo.

 

Anyone got one, know where to get one, know someone or a scrapyard breaking one ??

Hi, sorry can't help you with the steering lock but have a complete steering column surround for an early micra...i think its brown tho......

you can fit either version, you might need the later plastic surround if you cant find an earlier one.
