Mark Cosovich of W123 World fame organised an event at West Hampstead Motors in London to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Mercedes Benz W123. Yours truly got an invite and attended the soiree today.

Before setting off, I took the opportunity to photograph my W123 next to the EQE 350+.

The star of the show, the last ever W123 to be registered in the UK, in August 1985, a mint 19k mile 230E. If you fancy it, it's available for sale, having just been fully recommissioned by Mark, at a very reasonable £45k. It's probably as close as you can get to a new W123.

My 230E was registered on the 1st April 1985, which makes it a very late car.

There were a couple of W123 up on ramps and were the subject of a presentation about common faults that affect the model.

Lunch was included, in the form of German sausages and salads, beer and soft drinks. All gratis.

And no anniversary celebration would be complete without a cake.

It was actually very nice.

Fun day out, met some interesting people and got to display my 230E at such an exciting* event. Win.
