disappearing local shite :(

Sad days around my area in the last couple of weeks as it seems to have seen the end of 3 local retro motors.Around the corner from me there was a H reg gold Carlton that had stood on the driveway and not moved for at least 6 months. Just down the road from that was an old girl who owned an E reg Golf, which wasnt in bad condition - while on the main road nearby was a D reg Montego Vanden Plas, scruffy but still a daily runner.In the past fortnight - all have gone.The Carltons drive now stands empty with plantpots where the old Vauxhall used to sit, The Golf looks as though its been traded in for a Y reg silver Corsa and the Montego - whose tax ended a few days ago - has vanished.Not too long ago my area was a total shite haven - and included a 1977 Sherpa camper, K reg Nova, D reg Micra, J reg (mint) Escort MK 5, and rotting D reg nova that hadnt moved for years. Is a good job for the mk 2 Granada, D reg BMW Convertable and Orion 1.8D are still around as all the others mentioned are no more, although I fear its just a matter of time before even they are gone.Therefore I feel im doing my duty keeping up the levels of shite in the area with my 80's Ford collection. Indeed I added to the collection just last week with a nice G reg XR3i Cabriolet with a decent MOT that I got for a bargain price - just hope we have a nice summer so I can use it!.

Think thats the same everywhere though isn't it. Partly just that stuff comes to the end of its economic life and gets replaced. I suppose thats 'progress'.
