Been waiting for you to come back. Pain is a relative term. I am sure yours was not physical but psychologically I felt it from here. Westbay 1
grizz Posted May 26 Author Posted May 26 Next episode published. Episode 24 Part 2 now available. Front panel of drivers side fender welded in and finished for etch primer. When you have to do one of these, the trick is patience, measuring and in my opinion, cold air on every spot welded. The way I was doing it, was to use my bare hand to test the welds. Cool enough to hold, move on to the next. Grindback, fix pinholes, eventually DA and put aside for primer. Bmwdumptruck, Westbay, jim89 and 7 others 10

grizz Posted Thursday at 11:51 Author Posted Thursday at 11:51 Well. Life is fickle. My favourite lodger got given notice at the end of his shift last night. He was a great guy to have in the house compared to most who stay here. So I refunded his rent, gave him dinner and then be showered, packed up and headed out for the 5 hours home. I will keep the room open for a week, in case he gets to jump onto another contract and return. He also gave me a signed Andy McKee guitar and Gig case to keep as his wife only allows two guitars in the house. In other news, Dennis got given a cool Yamahe golfkart. Nice big offroad wheels. The flower came up in my garden. Almost alien in appearance. Yesterday I replaced the shitty leaking tap in the toilet with a flexi hose and new stopcock. Had to cut it short with a grinder because my pipe cutter never fitted. Guess what…… Yup. A new leak. Now under the cistern where the water goes in. Can’t seem to win at this. No wonder plumbers charge what they do. Right. Back to the garage and sanding filler. Maybe I get some primer on again later. . Bear 1

More about this later if anyone is interested.
grizz Posted Friday at 06:55 Author Posted Friday at 06:55 Shit luck comes in threes, Right ?? My favourite lodger moved out yesterday. Last night ended up with a major setback in the garage at closing time. More about this later if anyone is interested. Wish I could ignore this. Actually…….. Here it is. Dropped my door after primer for blocking or paint. Was carrying it like a tray. Damaged it badly No access to top or middle dents. They are not dents, they are crumples. Tore rear folded seam open too. I knew this could happen. Absolutely gutted. Now I need to pull the dents and start fixing that. jim89, MrBig, Jenson Velcro and 3 others 6
MrBig Posted Friday at 07:05 Posted Friday at 07:05 Ah man, that sucks. These things always seem to test you when you think it's going well. Had similar this week with the beetle. I think if it was me I would be trying a local PDR (paintless dent removal) guy to see if they could do something with that. A good one is like they're practicing the black arts, I genuinely have no idea how they do it. They aren't usually that expensive and have a variety of tools which means they should be able to work those out without having to unpick the skin. Minor bump in the road compared to the progress you've made on this recently, just keep the finish line in sight when you're cruising the coast in a sweet burbling truck. auntiemaryscanary, jim89, grizz and 1 other 2 1 1

grizz Posted Friday at 12:35 Author Posted Friday at 12:35 A good friend in America just posted this quote on me addressing the door damage. “Thats no hill for a climber” The window rail is also bent of course. 3mm deviation I have cut Mickeys hedge today. Will start back on this door tomorrow. Today I am going to go food shopping and look for a woman of loose morals and tight purse. Jenson Velcro and 93fxdl 2
93fxdl Posted Friday at 21:42 Posted Friday at 21:42 That is a real downer, but there is a positive to this, it happened before paint, i suppose could also say that you now know, how not to move your doors around, obviously would have been better not to have happened, but a bump in the road adds to the journey Ttfn Glenn grizz 1

grizz Posted yesterday at 07:19 Author Posted yesterday at 07:19 Right……. Saturday morning A good time to post up the next part of episode 24. Part 3 of fixing the second terrible fender So that concludes one of those jobs I always thought was crazy to even try. But others have done it before. And I think it’s come out so much better than I had expected. Slowly and steady it came through Feedback? Comments? .
grizz Posted yesterday at 13:38 Author Posted yesterday at 13:38 Afternoon Well……. Its been 2.00pm in England I have been busy doing nothing…… Painted a house number on a rock. Spoke to the neighbors for an hour. And Nick Wheeler came around to bring his spot welder and another slide hammer and tools and explained how to use them before I could make him pull and push the dents out the door. Making some lunch now. (Excuses) Then headed back to the garage to get started on pulling the damaged door straight. New skills learned I hope. George the cat was helping earlier. 666jjp, Westbay, 93fxdl and 1 other 4

grizz Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago A few photos of Fender number 2 being repaired. For those who don’t have time to watch videos. Biggest thing here is probably a few things 😉 Patience. Measuring. Cooling. Welding and repeated. Following that, grinding, checking, finding pin holes. Repairing them. Grinding, cooling, checking them and also surface levels. And last thing…… Being absolutely blown away when finished, that I had actually done it myself. From despair to “dancing” in celebration or relief. Honestly I could not be happier. Photo overload. . Westbay and 666jjp 2
