Nothing quite like the feeling of a proper meal after a productive days graft.

There’s a saying “Never buy a car on a rainy day”

I did just that…..

Of course it hid a myriad of nastiness

Does it matter?

Yes, but No.

What matters is that I am now dealing with it.
This job took me a chunk of time to do.

Problem lies in ESCALATION……

So the job for the day was getting the paint surfacing flatted out.

Other small jobs all add to elapsed time

VIDEO.

I also got a sparkplug delivered for the mail from @Jasp  up North for my little Anzani boat motor.
I am really avoiding getting started on this because it’ll be a distraction

Saturday and it’s raining outside……

So certainly no bodywork outside

Bare metal doesn’t like rain or dampness.

Time to catch up on my weekly YouTube channels that I follow, including “True Blue Travelers”

Is “Low Buck Garage” on your radar?

Probably my favourite channel on YouTube right now.

Weather played along fof a few days this week.

Another “Dennis Job” (He makes suggestions that complicate my life at that moment) done this week when the weather was less than ideal.

So I dismantled, cleaned up and lubricated the wiper motor and arms.

Also realised that I really do need a better pair of wiper blade pivots as the ones I have are broken and going to be less than serviceable.

Question is going to be where do I buy some.

In other news associated with the weather, Daffodils and some other plants are coming out of hibernation.

Oh, and I finished off the rearranging of my garage wall.

Pleased with how it turned out.

Môre workable.

Expensive.

I would look for used parts first.

A left field suggestion, secure the arms to the spindles using hot melt glue, to take up any play, then if you want to remove them, just add heat and melt the glue

Bare metal cab process started.

And FAILED.

Tried using an orbital sander but not aggressive enough.

I then went to a 115mm grinder and 120 grit flapdisc.

Too Aggressive.

So being late in the day, I walked away.

I also ordered an air driven DA sander off Evilbay.

More to come.

Poly strip disc for the win, barely touches good metal but paint and rust take the hit

Personally i have given up with an air DA and use an electric one, quieter and far far cheaper to run,

I found the air ones need far more air than I have, bought an electric DA and its great, if paint is thick or there's filler I usually get the worst off with a hot air gun  then finish off with a polystrip disc in a grinder.

If you can get the cab to a blasters it might not cost thst much more than the materials used doing it by hand.

Another thing that really gets me is how courier companies like to manage your time.

Your delivery is scheduled for a 12 hour window.

Hostage vibes.

But I do need this thing to further help ensure a reasonable outcome for my painting.

2nd'ed on the poly strip discs. I bare metalled my c15 with 5 discs in about two hours. Leaves a nice finish that epoxy primer bonds to well.

No sure.

Weather and life has a tendency to get in the way.
