grizz Posted July 25 Author Posted July 25 I was looking for some used, expired fire extinguishers. Another of those crazy things that crossed my mind when I was sober and needed execution. So yesterday I found one on FB marketplace. Marked it out and took to it with grinder, files, flap discs. I am pretty happy with the result. Made for a friends wife who is turning 65 next week. If she hates it….. Perfect. Comes home. . sdkrc, 666jjp, SilverMachine and 1 other 4

grizz Posted July 27 Author Posted July 27 Few things…… Cheap bootfair today. Nothing overly expensive, I like that. Some tools to be processed into ornaments and some for use in my shop. I usually take a bunch of King Dick Imperial spanners to America every year and share them about for thoss who want or need them. Smaller ones become large workshop keyrings. Dennis took a pair and prepared and then fitted them as handles to a friend’s beer fridge. I like that. Another pair will make their way into or onto Jim’s next ratrod build. I like that a lot. Also washed the Astro. I like that too. . MrBig 1

grizz Posted August 1 Author Posted August 1 As it says in the title. Looking for some “traditional” spoked (yes I know alloys are spoked too) bike wheels that have zero commercial value and use that I can use to create some “arty shit” with. They will be cut or drilled. Full of extra holes. Please PM if you do The JACKPOT will br finding a or some MG/Jaguar type spoked wheels. Ideally rusted to hell and beyond traditional use. PM please. .

grizz Posted August 2 Author Posted August 2 Lodgers can be a blessing or a bloody menace. In very different ways, they can cost you money. The kitchen is a great example. Breaking crockery, flooding the kitchen, burning stuff….. imagine having a pair of pre-teens living with you and having no responsibility. So non stick frying pans are always at risk. David who stayed here through Covid for 18 months killed the pan in this video. Take a look at this video. I made the pan better. . MrBig and Rustybullethole 2
grizz Posted August 2 Author Posted August 2 Hi guys I am in Rochester, Kent. I have an opportunity to get some spoked wheels, (with tyres fitted) which I have been looking for. But the distance at 125 miles to BA14 9 BR and over three hours driving one way makes it not worth the doing Sometimes there are some things that align and you manage to get stuff moved around. So the question is…….. ANYONE ? Please PM if you can help me get them closer or even to my place. Thanks.
grizz Posted August 3 Author Posted August 3 I hunted a nice one which I think was about a tenner. The other one is Herman the German as my cousin had it and I always wanted one!! Barry Today’s motherlode of VW Beetles. Total cost £6.00 And Craig took delivery of a new VW idBuzz this week. In red. What’s the chance of finding one at a bootfair. Not great with the supersized wheels….. but a find nonetheless. I got a random mix for my cabinet. Including another Unimog. . Coprolalia and Westbay 2
grizz Posted August 3 Author Posted August 3 That time of year. I actually had forgotten. So I was going to go to town for a mooch about when I saw some over ripe yellow plums under the tree at bunny bend. So I went around the roundabout and headed back home to get some shopping bags, then out to Grain power station to get some fruit. I only got almost 7lbs or 3kg. Came home, washed and cleaned them up and got started. Its usually 1:1 for sugar but I decided to only add 2kg sugar to my 3kg fruit. So cooked and bottled it all. I managed to get 3.2kg or about 7lbs of jam or jelly. Because I reduced the sugar, I didn’t add lemon juice. I prefer a bit of zing to my jam. And so thats me done for now. . auntiemaryscanary, Brigsy, Rustybullethole and 7 others 10

grizz Posted August 8 Author Posted August 8 So yesterday this started happening again. Heat gun, putty knife. Slow progress. It just takes time and has to be done like this. When doing it at home. A restoration friend, Gobin, had found me some of these KATSU Tools Drum Sander Burnisher Replacement Diamond Sanding Burnishing Drum 120mm SP10009308 On Amazon. I messaged Sally and asked her to order me some on her Prime account. She agreed, I reimbursed her and order placed by 8.00pm last night. Delivery projected for 1.00pm today. All of this was because it took me about 3.00 hours or more to do literally half of one side of the load bed cab side panel with a 1600W heat gun and scraper. Removing that old underseal and some paint is a slow, tedious and tiring process. Just your hand and index finger gets to do most of the work. So today I have to strip the rest of the underseal on that panel. Back to the drum sander…… Delivery at 10.00pm turned out to be at 08.05 Not sure about records, but a great result. The drums do look good and twinkle in the light. I wonder if they have diamond dust in there. I look forward to seeing what they can do to make life easier and speed up the process. And once cleaned up…….. RUST TO CUT OUT AND WELD UP. Yup, you heard me right. Both sides have about 250mm by 30mm to cut out and weld in repair pieces. Thankfully I have practiced on the fenders before. . 93fxdl, Bmwdumptruck, Westbay and 4 others 7

grizz Posted August 9 Author Posted August 9 So….. Where were we ? Trying to get the tedious task of scraping underseal from the panel. I actually guesstimate it took 5 hours so far. And no, not sure there’s a quicker way. If there is…….. best you come show me your way. So after some knotwheel of death action, the extent of the rust became more apparent. Two sections. 400mm/16” and 50mm/2” on the too lip. The flat section will be inspected and cleaned up later. While cleaning up, I also found a lot of wear and tear dents right across the panel where objects were obviously slung when the truck was a working machine. I will try fixing them but certainly am not spending days on that job. The other time waster I took on was to recover the top of the fire extinguisher and turn it into a stand for the frying pan skull to stand next to my fireplace. That came out good as well. Happy. Photos…….. .
