synx508 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 The '91 Lancia Dedra from my avatar was due to go for scrappage round about now, but due to unforeseen circumstances the new car might not be a practical proposition. The car will go for scrap in the next few days and it's located in Windsor. It has been laid up since the cold weather started and will not start, it could just be a flat battery. Work before the next mot (due tomorrow) would include new brake callipers, CV boots and I think the CV joint itself on one side. There's also a oil leak from the camshaft, which apparently needs looking at. I'm no car expert but I'm probably half responsible for the choice of this car, turned out to be a really good car having cost £6,000 some 16 years ago and has only needed one small patch to the floor in terms of rust and a clutch master cylinder in that time. It has done about 98k miles.I didn't want to post about it before, but things change... so if anyone wants to take it away somehow, act fast!Edit: No longer available
synx508 Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 It's being scrapped and replaced with a Hyundai, sadly. Its near last-minute saving was not to be. The Hyundai was about to be cancelled which would've meant that the Lancia needed to find a home with someone who could fix it up, then the Hyundai wasn't cancelled after all.Sorry & thanks to the person from AS who responded by PM, events moved a bit too fast.
