It’s all there, although I can’t read a lot of it. Just wish I’d done it years ago to get the addresses of previous owners. Dick Cheeseburger 1
Dick Cheeseburger Posted October 18 Author Posted October 18 Annnd sold. End of an era, I think. My priorities now lie elsewhere after 25 years of owning and riding both Vespas (briefly) and many Lambrettas. Gutted to make the decision as it's a lovely scooter with a great backstory which I've managed to piece together, but something had to give. It's interesting how the market for Lambrettas has changed over the last few years. I've always made a couple of quid on imports I've bought, tidied and then punted on. This UK scooter owed me around £3.6k and that's what I've just sold it for. I bought it as an intended keeper and have owned it and improved it over the last three years. I originally pitched it at £4k - two years ago it would have sold for that, I'm pretty sure. However, it just didn't have the interest I expected at that price and I had to drop the asking in order to move it on. I guess I was just out of season with it - maybe next spring would have netted me the £4k I felt it was worth. Looking at the bigger picture, many classics seem to continue to struggle to command prices from a couple of years ago thanks to the uncertainty with the current economic climate. Original scooter fans and owners are now fading away too, which also doesn't help with values. It'll be interesting to see where values of classics go over the next few years.
