1.9DCI with a fucked engine...

This was taken today

over 40,000 miles later just before it went up the road to its new home.

Now this might sound silly but I had no idea this car meant to much to me until today. I took a punt when I bought it and did quite a lot of work installing a used engine on the driveway and since that day, it has performed faultlessly through thick and thin and never put a foot wrong.

I have used it and abused it and as it was only supposed to be a temporary car when I bought it in 2014, I didn't really cherish it and to be honest, I am surprised how long I have kept it. Its by far the longest I have owned a car.

Even when I replaced it last year with an E46 (no longer have) I ended up keeping this on the drive "just incase" and it was pressed back into daily action after a 4 month break.

I have done house moves in it, It was the car we had and used to go to all of my partners hospital appointments on the mainland when she was being treated for Cancer and I just hadn't realised how much I had become attached to it.

Hand on heart, I loved that car and will really miss it a great deal. I hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I apparently have.

I feel very sad and silly.

So has anyone else got any similar stories about their old chod going to a new home and you then realising the car you just put up with had actually become a family friend...... part of the family......

Goodbye MD02 KXE

Yup. Parted with my V70 2.5T in May 2018, and still regret it.

It saw us through thick and thin, and I loved it.
