The missus has snapped her gearchange cable.

 

Here's a picture of one end:

Here's a picture of a scrapped stripped MGF engine bay bulkhead with a metal flange holding two handbrake cables and two gearchange cables - this flange is then bolted to another flange holding two heater matrix pipes - notice the size of the gearchange ball joint thingy is bigger than the hole in the flange:

How the fucking fuck am I supposed to get a rusted nut out with 1cm of space with the subframe in the way? Mr BL couldn't have put a little hole in the subframe or, how about this, decent bolts that aren't made from choiux pastry?

 

BTW I got it out by using a drift repeatedly hit with a hammer. 2 hours later. :(

If the plate was as rusty as the example above, it would have been easier and quicker to pour a bit of salt water over it :lol:

Nice brake pipe corrosion in that pic. I wonder if it was scrapped for that reason alone.......?
