Having worked in the industry, and chatting with campers and motorhomers every day, I wouldn't even entertain buying a UK built motorhome , sad though that makes me.

Tbh you might as well go and buy an RV in the states have a holiday out there then import it back here, the amount you get for your money out there is absolutely incredible!

Lot of work to do though.. they have 120v electrics I believe? plus different gas fittings, and the usual lights etc. Some sites won't take them, and they don't fit in the most beautiful parts of the country. Parts are also a bit iffy as there were so many manufactures that have been swallowed up by others and spares are not easy to find. Loads of bang for your buck though, but most I see now are rotting away in farmyards, or have the big blocks ripped out of them.

Hmm got me thinking now, simple enough to keep the existing 110v appliances run via a transformer with a seperate ring/ fuse box for 240v but not sure how you could do it with an existing onboard generator to run 240v side as well. I'm guessing back feeding the transformer wouldn't be that simple.

Update-money refunded - couple of grand down with bits and pieces- but could have been much, much worse.

So happy days and will be returning to a tin tent.

I never want to see another camper van!
