How much is reasonable for shifting shite?

So this year has been pretty sodding awful, but my life is still pretty good really and a lot of it is inside my own head.

However, the realities of losing clients, and a rollercoaster of "options" which aren't... Gah. Mentally exhausted, I've leased a new vehicle, committed to help my parents' sort their house in Scotland (lots of travelling that I don't want to do in an older car), and am going to reboot.

Said vehicle can tow stuff and I'm buying a towbar for it. When it comes to moving cars about, does anyone actually pay enough to cover the effort involved, or is it really a case of "well, the fuel is covered"? Because if I get, like, £50 in for moving something over the costs, it's worth it if I wasn't doing anything else with that time.

Bear in mind I have to rent a trailer to do this stuff. Should I consider "being able to move cars" a useful extra thing, or just reserve it for friends.

There is so many people doing it for a pound a mile or less, that frankly you will be doing well to cover your costs.

Also: What tow vehicle is it? If it's a decent towing capacity you will be under tachograph regulations if doing it for hire and reward.
