Wireless in a post apocalyptic world

I had been using a Pure Highway DAB - until it packed up. The replacement version seems to need splicing into the wiring system, and I really CBA.

I noticed Amazon doing the Pure Highway 300 for £60 just before Christmas so I treated myself to one.  I haven't fitted it yet, but it looks promising.  As well as DAB, you can plug USB sticks into it and it'll control an iPod.   Looks like you plug it in line with the FM aerial.

Anyone know if they're any good?   (Apart from packing up, which I hope mine won't!)

My other half's previous car was an '07 plate Fester with an aux in - the socket was down behind the gear lever.

Hers was an ST, mind. Lesser models may not have had this.

I use a Belkin FM transmitter to send podcasts from my phone to my car stereo. I've used it in a few cars now, and it works well. Probably the easiest way to keep radio reception in a car without any faff. With a bit of thought and/or crude wiring it could probably be built in near somewhere you could stash a DAB/ internet radio equipped device, to save wires flailing about.

We had a boggin, bottom of the range (style?) '58 festa, that had aux-in near the gear stick. Never used it though
