Where to sell a repaired Cat D?

£2500?! Seriously? 5000 miles on the clock, and it's nearly new as well. This whole 'cat d is worthless' business is totally untrue.

OP, stick it on evilbay with a sensible reserve and see what happens. I've owned several Cat C and Cat D vehicles over the years, and have never, ever found one which is advertised at half the price of its non-categorised alternative!

I'm not talking about it being advertised for 50% of normal retail value. It was suggested that the car be sold to a dealer but as many write-offs are clocked, poorly repaired and difficult to sell they'll kick it in the nadgers to reduce the risk. In my experience (12 years and 4 dealerships) it generally equates to approximately half. They won't want it.

£2500 was suggested as the amount that it should be cheaper than the equivalent non-write-off car. If you can't offer finance solutions (most of these are bought on HP) or a complete warranty and insurance maybe an issue, you have to offer a bloody good reason for someone to take the risk with a previously crunched car; especially in this price range.
