Had  not much to do today so I thought I  would find my scraper and attack the Cowley floorpans and see what I could find......

Luckily (and this has never  happened before)  I seem to have  bought a solid car....

 

The dark patch that  looks like a map of Australia is just paint....

All pretty much as God, or Cowley, intended.......factory seams, no  erosion.   Bloody hell.

Not at all bad... it looks as though it's had a good dose of that tar-like underseal which causes more problems over time than it meant to prevent!

 

A pleasant surprise, infact.

Yep, exactly that.  Sod to scrape off until I popped to the hire shop for an industrial heat gun.   Smokin'.....!

Next job, vactan to the rescue, followed by chassis black and that will be it.  Carpets will have to wait but I do have some better seats.

If it was the same shit they sprayed onto my old Morris junker it took a good two days to remove it all. I was much more at ease after I'd removed it and then treated the steel, though.
