Micra cvt gearbox

My Mrs Clio disolved away and has been replaced with a Nissan Mirca s with a cvt gearbox, it has developed a fault that the gears seem to be slipping all the time and the revs rise and fall as I am driving along, im glad the thing does not have a rev counter!!

I have looked on the Nissan forum and there seems to be a few bits on the subject, something about carbon brushes in a carbon fileings but nothing seems conclusive. I was wondering if there are any cvt experts here, is there a bodge that I dont know about as it seemed to drive okay when we test drove it 6 months ago and wonder if it was bodged to sell.

The gearbox oil looks clean and at the right level on the dipstick

The cars driveable but its not a pleasure to drive and when the revs start going up I have to keep backing off on the gas, I also wonder if it could be a sensor on the throttle linkage???

Any tips greatfully recieved.
