Good to see it's making progress.

Have you done a parts request on oval chat? Could well be worth a go what with select racers still stacking them high for special events.

Sorry if i've missed it, but what's the game plan with this? Is it taking over P6 daily duty or am i going to be selling a kidney/my arse in order to by it in the near future?

I'm hoping for outcome two (the buying the car part, not the prostitution-y part)

There are currently no plans other than to get it up to scratch.

I have no inclination to keep it for too long, since it being my 15th MKII Granada, I prefer less familiar chod for the second half of my life, but at the same time, I don't have any real plans to sell it either.

The car is far from perfect and it will require a hefty amount of doh to get it sorted. I'd say we are talking a good few bags here. I have already invested a considerable amount so far. However, you could make me an offer I can't turn down.

It will never replace the haunted P6 V8, though. Never ever. No way. Nada. Zilch. Rien. Nemo. Nein.

The only "offer you can't refuse" i can give at the moment is to wake up next to a budgies' head (i'm to poor to even afford a horse at the mo'). But i'm having a Cortina clear out soon which should free up funds, i think a black V6 Granada would look well next to a blue V6 Cortina estate.

Right. Where were we?

Progress was made in form of a brand new exhaust system front to back, imported from Germany, to avoid the ridiculous scene tax levied on anything Ford in the UK.

Starter was rebuilt without telling the rebuilder what it is for, to avoid the ridiculous scene tax levied on anything Ford in the UK.

The underside of the car is in museum condition, there is not a trace of rust!

Still having problems with obtaining the correct fuel distributor/metering head.

The one I have bought, including paying the ridiculous scene tax levied on anything Ford in the UK, turns out to be from a Sierra 2.8. Although similar, there is one distinct difference, most likely to comply with more stringent emission rules during warmup. We are currently trying to adapt it for Granada use.

Once this is all done, there shouldn't be much between the car and one of those pointless MoT tests.
