Gearbox specialist - greater manchester

Hi all, anyone know of any decent gearbox specialists in greater manchester that in particular have ecperience with the vauxhall/fiat/alfa M32 gearbox? I have bearing failiure imminently in my none shite and would like to get it sorted before it destroys the box and needs a whole new box.

 

Seems strange, for the first time my shite is running better than my none shite.

They can be an utter cunt to do. We end up replacing gearboxes whole, rather than reconditioning them. I work for a Vauxhall dealer....

i take it you have seen a few VXRs having trouble with these? i heard they have problems with all their applications in the vauxhall/fiat/alfa range

 

I have the Fiat Bravo, and its just started whining in 6th when doing about 40, but had an odd noise, like a stuck brake, coming off it as well. Currently at 54k miles on it. Will it last?

 

It might be easier to change the box, but i bet a whole new box isnt cheap, the car is out of warranty and i cant believe the clutch has lasted longer than the gearbox has.

How far out of warranty? If you have a good history, it might be worth asking your local dealer if they can negotiate a "contribution" claim with Fiat.
