Station Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Where have all these gone? Daihatsu Charade by Jibijib, on Flickr This had been 'abandoned' for at least a year in a back street near my folk's house. I used to pass it to see if it was there, and one morning I put a note through the letterbox of the house. I put it through, the note fell on top of a pile of letters that was about 2 foot high. Obv totally abandoned, the tax disc dated the year previous. I passed in the summer again to see a note under the windscreen wiper - I thought someone was trying up me so I took it out and saw it was a photocopied note that had been left on all the cars on the street asking to move them off the road as they were having jubilee celebrations. I saw the car sitting in the road amongst the tables with red white and blue banners overhead. The next time I looked, the car had gone. Either taken by a scrap dealer or the neighbours called the scrap yard and had it crushed. Either way, I'm sad I missed out.The thing is I can't find these anywhere - I haven't seen any on ebay or gumtree???
Doctormop Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/daihatsu-cuor ... 4abee3cdb6 Would this be too new?Doesn't look like the picture but can't be too bad I wouldn't have thought.
lovejoy Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 like this one ... ? still running (occasionally), I did 44 miles in it this year ! speedo now shows 47,000 miles from new.- wouldn't mind some spares from that chinese eye abandoned one though ....
pandarus Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I have a soft spot for Daihatsu's...in particular the Terios
Station Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 Yeah, like that red one - it has the smaller rear lights. I suspect they've nearly all been binned by now.
Partridge Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I can’t remember the last time I saw one I always preferred these, equally as scarce and more tragic looking. Sadly you’re more likely to see Hitler riding a pink unicorn in Warrington Town Centre than either.
