MOT exemption explained (sort of)

I insured an old heap recently for under £80, I worry that cheap classic insurance may suffer once a few dickheads start dragging old heaps of shit from hedges and set about taking out school buses and kitten sanctuaries. Granted most pre '60 cars don't fail, but there's an awful lot of desperate old clunge kicking around that has no business being submitted.

I'd be a lot happier if the exemption was applied only to vehicles that have a current MOT, and the rest benefit after passing one last time, if just to confirm existence, front and rear of the chassis still connected, has a steering wheel, that kind of thing.

I can't really see a great problem with it, I love old cars, but i certainly wont be swapping my daily for a pre 60 car with no heating, shit brakes and no power! so by my reckoning, if i wont think about it, the general man on the street certainly wont entertain the thought! Plus, it isn't like the 'kool kidz' will be clamouring for shonky old grotters to impress the girls!

Whatever it is, it still needs to be roadworthy, it's the same situation as the dickheads that moan when their car fails its MOT on bald tyres! Check the fuckers before!

Good time to bring it in being mid November and shite weather, If they had brought it in in late March there might have been a goldrush (crashfest)
