Pug Cit electronic carbs?

The 604 has a Solex 34 TBIA and a 35 CEEI carb. Most of the time the 35 CEEI does nothing and only the 34 TBIA is used.

 

Googling around it appears that the Solex 34 TBIA was also used on Citroen BX16 and Peugeot 205 1.4, but in an "electronic" format.

 

This carb seems to come with an ECU which has a lambda sensor. So it seems that this carb can detect and adjust mixture on the fly. Presumably this would give economy approaching that of fuel injection?

 

Could be a bolt on improvement for the 604?
