One day as I was driving home I was waved down by a bloke as I passed through a village. "I have a Triumph TC in my yard if you're needing parts" he said waving towards a rusty Hillman Minx and a fence. I said I'd pop back when I had the time, today I did. The chap who owns the place has had it since the early 1960s when he bought it as an overgrown former scrapyard, he cut down the 10ft grass by running an Austin 8 over it repeatedly and then tried the same tactic with the (much smaller at the time) trees. The trees won and cover the whole site now. Now he takes in cars that are cheap or otherwise destined for the crusher. Abandoned projects, garage/shed clearances etc, what he can't sell he bangers. Cars that met such a fate recently include a Daimler 250, an NSU Prinz and soon the stretch Landcrab in the pictures. Guy seems happy to sell cars and parts and strips the cars for autojumbles before racing/scrapping. He recently bought a bunch of cars that were getting dragged out of a boarded up church from the scrap man and sold them on to restoration. The yard has also been in Practical Classics "Rust in Peace" segment, he seemed rather proud of that! I may or may not be considering buying the whole blue Dolomite for parts...
