scooters
These are gr8 fun. Be careful leavinq cigs/tapes/cans/paper/lighter on top of the passenger side dash when passenger window is fully open. Hard right hand cornering is likely to hurl all out of windon. Lost 60 Camel, a zippo, Full Moon Fever by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, and a VHS rlntal copy of J C van D's Bloodsport into the Dene whilst drivinq some dizzy bint down Jesmond Dene Road in 1991 ..... mind you I did get to Podger her.....mind you...60 Camel! The Reverend Bluejeans
That must be the only D reg Mark IV left - they used to rot like buggery and the D reg Scorts were known for it - even 20 years ago they were flaky. Has it got plastic front arch liners? That was the tell tale for the better, vaguely rust resistant version. Looks nice in the metallic - has an ostentatious GL/Ghia look about it as opposed to the usual miserable red/white/blue.
vivapower
please dont spoil it with rs xr kits Dont worry it'll stay standard. you see 3i's & turbos all the time but never an original lower spec car even rarely at a show. vivapower
yeah they killed my autoshite sticker so i have to try and get another for this side. tried all the local yards to try and get some new glass and they were either shut or had crushed the other mk4 escorts. im trying furburs tomorrow and if that turns out fruitless i can get one over the internet. Conrad D. Conelrad
My dad had a D reg MK4. In 1989 someone broke into it while parked at Stretford Arndale. They broke the same window, the little one on the rear passenger side door. They also broke the passenger front window and stole the radio, so I'm not sure what the point of breaking the little back one was. This was only a week or so after we'd moved here from Brentwood, not a warm welcome! I have a spare Autoshite sticker somewhere if you want it. trigger
I've just remember that i had the same window smashed on my Mk 4 Escort in Braintree High Street about 10 years ago outside the Weatherspoons pub, the feckers never even stole anything. ashmicro
Yup, I had that one broken on my Mark 4 as well. People think they can reach in and get at the interior door handle. Not hard to fit a replacement IIRC, the rear rail for the main window screws into the frame at the top, inside the seal I think.
retro80sboy
as I said to you before mate, absolute twats, im gutted for you Danny. Happy though I could help out with some off road parking for you until you get it fixed. Its in good company with my 2 Mk 4s until then. Loved driving it yesterday, got to be the best mk 4 ive driven - you can tell its been looked after with no expense spared over the years.
trigger
You know, it is possible that it could have been a stray stone, my dad took out a window in a neighbours Volvo once while cutting the front lawn, a stone flicked up and shot straight through it.
