Lord Sterling's spotted shite - THREAD RESURRECTION!! 😳

Lord Sterling

Recommended Posts

Alfisti - Yes Sainsbury's but not quite Bearwood

Oops, I meant Blackheath  (probably even further away, but the quality of shite, especially the Fords might just be a clue  )

Lol! The Sainsbury's seen in the pics are various Birmingham branches, I do sometimes use Blackheath one as its not far from where I live, certainly alot more straight forward to get to than anywhere else in Birmingham. I do pass through Blackheath quite alot so am very familiar with them place, I used to work at a garage just down the road in Cradley Heath not far from Powke Lane.

Really? Thats the only one I've seen, I'm guessing he would park the others in storage or have access via the newer flats behind? I've never seen the DAF out and anout, always parked in that spot. Blackheath/Cradley and beyond are pretty good for shite spotting, much better than Birmingham.

If it's the Daf I'm thinking of he has. They're parked behind the watch and clock makers in Blackheath(Jenks?). I'm pretty sure he has a moke type Daf under one of the tarps too.

Mega shite spotting there LS. There's still tons more around this neck of the woods though, quite alot still being used as daily motors.

There is a yard behind the Victorian shop on the corner of the High Street, he keeps them there (or certainly used to). Apprently he is quite well known in the owners club.

Where is that scrapyard it looks kind of familiar?

There is an interesting VW scrapyard called "Volksmajic" just round the corner from me, they have some interesting old VW's round there. Including a present a nice D reg VW Golf Softop.

Anyway some great spots it is a good area for tat, must get my camera out at sometime.

I know Jenks the clockmakers/watch shop pretty well, very olde-worlde looking place, I pass there almost all the time as I used to work by Powke lane.

Where is that scrapyard it looks kind of familiar?

The Scrapyard is Saltbrook Motor Spares on Saltbrook Road, I used to go there quite regularly picking up spares for the Micra and Rovers, I used to come away with loads of stuff for little money. Thats where you will find the Scirocco, the crummy Lancia at the top of my Italian post and the C-reg Beige Mercedes W124 was also there.

These spots of yours are goodly decent. How good does that 19 van look on 11 \ 18 \ Fuego Turbo alloys? Quite.

Also, that Traction Avant belongs to one of the writers from C&SC. He's properly whored it out amongst his friends for their weddings, so I imagine it must be a neat little sideline for him. Can't say I wouldn't give it a go were in his position..........

Right,

Thought it was about time to dump a few more pics here. Nothing spectacular but mostly shite all the same.....

Please excuse the rather non-quality of the pics, I'm not much of a photographer, all of my spots are from an ailing camera phone. In no particular order.....

We start with this lovely example of a Nissan Sunny saloon spotted for sale in Stirchley:

I think its done less than 30k, always garaged and looks very solid to me. If anyone is interested its at:

Right! Thought it was about time I updated this thread, and seeing as there seems to be an air of bad feeling and dissolution I thought this might at least try and slightly lift the mood with my retarded spotting attemps. You can only try......

Some of these spots have been seen before. As usualy, my photography SKILLaz aint up to the standard of many, but at least you can see what being pictured (As long as photofucket doesnt decide to go wrong again)

One for Eddyramrod, have a Buick:

Early Vlovo:

Spotted this Scrote before on the move, now I got it parked:

FordEscort1.jpg

FordEscort.jpg

Supermarket 325i, some woman from another was watching me take the pic, I just gave her the evils back :?

Image000-1.jpg

Old boy-owned original Mini. I aksed him if I could take a pic:

Image005.jpg

Image004.jpg

More old-boy owned chod. Had a short chat to the owner of these, he used to work at Austin-Rover in Longbridge, he has invited me back anytime so I'll be trying to find out what the slightly obscured truck in his front garden is:

Image170.jpg

I captured his Mini van some months back, it still earns its keep as a Van no less:

MiniVan4.jpg

Peugeot 205 GRD (I think) Not moved for ages:

Image009.jpg

1997 called, it wants it Escort Cabrio back.

VERY clean Sierra Sapphire Ghia, similar to the one I had years ago, albeit in a better condition:

Image057.jpg

....But she only loves him because he's got a Cortina....I really wish I had a Cortina....

Some people never learn

So-called "mates" Bluebird. Nice motor mind.....

Image180.jpg

Image184.jpg

I've known this VW Camper van since I was about 6 in 1989. I used to live in the housing estate where this van is located, it used to be in a bit of nicer condition than this, its always worn the same wheel trims. On a recent visit to my old stomping ground I was surprised to see this still about:

Image194.jpg

Image198.jpg

Image199.jpg

Bleedin' sun took exception to me taking a photo of this Jag, so tried its best to ruin my photo. It half succeeded:

Image210.jpg

Image212.jpg

I dont know what this place is but they always seem to have half build crap laying around, the rest of the yard is pretty much the same, they have cars ranging from early 70s stuff to modern crap. I assume they take cars apart:

Image241.jpg

Image243.jpg

Image244.jpg

Image264.jpg

God knows what this is, it comes up as a '1976 Royal Enfield' which, from what I can gather used to make motorbikes. This car thing also seemingly runs on solar power, or 'ELECTRICITY' accord to DVLA. Sod Toyota Piouses then:

Image271.jpg

Image270.jpg

These next few are from today. Go me.

Some quality spots there, Mo.

There are loads of bits old old random chod around the Midlands. I wonder if cars rust less in Solihull, West Brom and Coventry? It'd explain why anything built there seems to have been rust-proofed by the Italians. Must be the micro-climate :-)

I know the Coventry built wheel arches on the Jag need sorting...

That Enfield is epic as well as the old boy minis, just the way they should be!

I think the enfield were ordered by the electricity board, in the same vein as the leccy Bedford CFs, to promote the use of electricity in the 70s. Needless o say they are one of the few cars to mkae the GWIZZ look good (not that that would stop me having one!).

That Enfield Electric is a once in a lifetime spot I reckon, can't be more than a handful still 'active' and actually seeing one parked up on the street is unheard of these days. Pretty sure that one was on ebay not that long ago. Interesting it came up as a 'Royal Enfield' as I didn't know the (Greek) Enfield car company had owt to do with the motorcycle lot.

Great spots, do keep it up

Thanks guys. There is a gaggle load of chod around here. Some I havent been able to get due to wrong times/circumstance and other have been easy. Been doing a bit more shite spotting today. Need to go an recapture a few more pics my retarded phone camera ruined.

Eddy, I've got a few more pics of the Buick. I had some old woman looking at me as I took the pics so they are not the best, I'll chuck them up on the next post.

Right, I bought myself a newish phone about a month ago. With it came a 4gb memory card which can store up to around 2k images. I dont intend to use it up as I really cant be arsed sorting through 2000+ images so just dump some on the computer when I can - Today I've had such time to do so but then I remembered that I also had other images from my old phone, I decided to get them all off and dump them on here..........

The better/clearer images are more recent from my new phone, the older crappier ones are from my old ailing phone, some of them are from when I went to Brussles, others are from just pottering about town back when I had the time and no job.

Enjoy.

Even better, it came from the same garage that supplied my old White E-reg Rover 825 Sterling:

I wish! Where I'm actually going to be living looks like Coronation Street, complete with wide back-alley, so I'm really going to miss having a driveway in which to park an old Cadillac... I do have a back yard, but it's about the size of a big shower cubicle. Never mind, just means I'll have to keep my shite legal.
