carlo
Sorry getting a bit bored of this modern stuff. Actually we had one of these a few years back, I got it for the proper automatic gearbox too. Not a bad thing to drive but the longer we had it the duller and duller it got, think we got rid after about 18 months. Lost a packet too as it was on a PCP but felt far happier with a £500 Clio. Could be worth stipulating guidelines for car entry for this. 20thC only would instantly cut out most moderns. brownnova
carlo
I don't mind at all posting them up it's quite good fun but pre 21st C sounds more like it, or at least vaguely interesting. Having said that I don't think you could find a finer example of Autoshite than a Citroen C6. Classic AS almost from birth - Unwanted, complicated, depreciates like nothing else yet utterly gorgeous. Probably on sale for under a grand near you soon. With an engine to drain your bank account and an interior unworthy of a 2001 C5 it has to be a 20. barefoot, Frogchod, FakeConcern and 1 other 3

Tommyboy12
7 hours ago, Metal Guru said: How is it possible to get 20hp from 2.1 litres? Simple answer is HP doesn't plough fields, torque does. Complicated answer is it's designed for high torque at low RPM (2100rpm is the red line on this engine) and constant running at high load on very low octane petrol (in the 80s octane rating). When I say high load I mean that it would be like driving a car capable of 100mph with your foot welded to the floor at 100mph for 7-8 hours a day every day. That's going to wear it out very quickly. When you drive your car at 70mph it's maybe at 15% engine load, sometimes less. When you accelerate it might peak at 100% but that's for 20-30 seconds at most. A tractor works at 100% load whenever it's doing work in the field. If it's not at 100% it isn't being used efficiently. It creates exceptional wear on an engine to work that hard if it isn't designed properly. A tractor engine is also expected to last thousands of hours, equivalent to millions of car miles, whereas a car engine would maybe last a couple of hundred hours being treated like that and even if it is being used properly how many cars reach a million miles with major overhaul? So you design the engine to be strong and not so powerful as to help in its own destruction, yet torquey enough to do the job. Hence tractors even today have 6-cyl 7L engines with only 200hp. It's the same engine that's in some Standard cars. In that application it's 70hp. Rust Collector, M'coli, Uncle Jimmy and 6 others 8

JimH
Numbers numbers numbers. Always with the numbers. This shouldn't be about numbers, it should be about the vibe of the thing. Desperation of Marketing Department: Can either relate to a particular car or a model in general. Highest rating - Any ARG Mini Browness of Interior: Different levels from velour at the top to despair at the bottom. Baseness of specification: Did the optional radio have no pre-sets? You win the round! Popularity Then:Now ratio: Talbot Tagora at the top, Mk5 Escort at the bottom. New metal Coefficient: How much new metal can be let into it before the owner gives up. Blue Triumph Acclaim would probably top this category. WTF rating: Scoring the look given by people who make the mistake of asking you what you drive at the moment. LOL Out of curiousity where did you get the maximum speed from? Ok it has a small frontal area but doesn't look like it has a lowish cd, especially with those sort of mirrors for example, so it seems very high for 19hp unless it's a theoretical calculation of gearing times max revs.
