cort16
shite effort this year I sold Kev to the garage next door, I still see it all the time and it's exactly as it was when I sold it. I also sold a long termer. I'd had this Cortina for 5 years. A rare car but I wanted something original My daily KIA optima went back. A good car I replaced the Cortina with this Granada I replaced my KIA with this Citroen DS5 The only remainer is the Z4. I've done a fair bit to it this year. MOT is up very soon, I'll be selling this year. Roobarb, BorniteIdentity, mrbenn and 2 others
strangeangel
Now entering its 4th year in the Still Here column, it's long since become part of the furniture: Happily, this arrived: As did this, somewhat less so... The Moog
You know when you think you have had a quiet year ... then you look back through the threads .... well Big Green Bastard - one of the longest term cars on the fleet mainly cause Northern Monkey wouldnt let me kill it. A free car that I lost money on. It survives and now lives with Clayts AVO failed MOT spectacularly on rust so was stripped and used to make others go faster This 406 gave up the ghost when the fuel pump started to play silly buggers. I had just filled it with fuel and we were supposed to be off to Scotland. Literally started cutting out and so was dumped at home before using another car. Went off to the scrap man. I cant quite remember where I got it from I got a lancer to replace it which was an AS bike and collected from Scotland. Really nice car if a bit rusty underneath. Thought the tyres on it were shit, till I found out the rear calipers werent working! Changed to new calipers and all was good. It went to Northern Monkey in a convoluted swap including a Mondeo and Golf Mondeo TDCI (no Pics) - Got from Northern Monkey, took it back the next day as the DMF was rattling its tits off! Swapped back and ended up with the golf Golf - My brothers car and a really nice one. DMF had utterly failed so did a collection via breakdown people who kindly shipped it home for me and gave me a hire car. New clutch and DMF were fitted by NM motors before some car swappage. Ended up running it for a few months but not being an estate wasnt very useful with dogs. Sold to a lovely couple via autotrader. Golf TDI This SMART was offered up for mega cheapz on AS so I snapped it up with a Bucketeer delivery service bringing it from the far south up to Accrington. Has had some odd electrical fobiles, but currently sits on brand new tyres and freshly serviced. Getz then was surplus to requirements - Sold to the shadow. I think I sold this way too cheaply but as I had got a good deal on the SMART didnt mind too much. This little pug was under threat of being scrapped and so it was saved. Loads of issues with it, all improved with having a cherry bomb exhaust. Lent to Bucketeer for a month or so, who fell in love with it. Ended up going to Lacquer Peel, then many other Shiters - Now living in Saabnuts home for unloved cars. AVO was replaced with BAL another 1.6 Mx5 - bought from Mitisigma on the day of the MOT running out. It came with a water leak which seemed to fix itself on way home. Bits were swapped over from AVO and MOT obtained with just wiper blades needed. It was swapped with Bucketeer for a volvo estate as needed a dog wagon and had bought its replacement Its replacement was another red MX5 this time with a turbo strapped to it. Purchased from Fatpirate, it is an absolute loon of a car. I love it and dont want it to ever go anywhere. Will need to start work on the snagging list of jobs including inlet manifold. As mentioned above volvo 850 estate - swapped with Bucketeer for BAL. Becomes a dog wagon for new mutleys. Winter tyres stuck on it and it just works. Boring though so instead bought a turbo v70 v70 turbo bought from Ohdearme for scrap money - the intent was to do it up but then Northern Monkey hatched a plan over a coffee for a multple swappage car deal. (more of which later) Then I won a micra in a roffle -I love little K11s and a 1.0 is one of the best in my eyes. This is a real keeper I then bought BAL back and swapped BAL and Turbo Volvo for a Saab Aero estate with Northern Monkey - although that should be marked as pending! So the year ended with the following fleet Nissan Micra Turbo Mx5 Volvo 850 Estate SMART Saab Aero (ish) Plan this year is to sell the 850, MOT Aero and get it on the road. Fix niggles on mx5 Turbo, drive the micra lots. Bucketeer, Roobarb, mrbenn and 11 others 12

I wonder why its fallen off the DVLA checker... (normally cars only fall off the DVLA checker but remain on the MOT checker if they have been issued CoD, which got me very concerned for JNJ135L until I was able to verify that it still exists thankfully!) NorthernMonkey
Present at the start of the year... Still here, still needs recommissioning, silly tints removing etc etc, always wanted one and can’t see me parting with it anytime soon Still here, very solid underneath, awaiting supercharger bolting on Needs a couple of electrical niggles sorting, then testing before probably being put up for sale. Or maybe not... ? Still here, just. Got lots (and lots) of issues, likely to be parted out soon Still here, part of the family Now with @SRi05 Arrivals. Bought from @Saabnut, currently having a bit of welding done and should be the new daily by the end of the month Came from @Cavcraft, Mrs NM loved it so spent lots sorting out various niggles etc then it shit it’s clutch cylinder. Fragged the ungrateful bastard Bought from @snagglepuss, fitted a new clutch kit and DMF, gave it to SWMBO then sold it back to him a few weeks later without telling her. SWMBO not impressed as she loved it... Won in a roffle. Still here, sort of. Also won in a roffle. Swapped with @TheDoctor for... Which in turn was swapped with @HMC for... Now providing accommodation for @Bucketeer Purchased from @dome, fixed a few bits, ignored a few more then sold to @barmatt Bought from @Lanciaman, given to Mrs NM as a replacement for the red Saab 9-3 above Acquired from @snagglepuss in a convoluted deal for a 9-5 Aero which I can’t find a picture of at the minute. Not sure what to do with it...needs a bit of tlc to pass MOT and tbh it’s surplus to requirements at the minute but it’s not a bad old thing... There’s probably more but I’ve lost count ? dome
It's been an exciting* year here at Dome Mansions The S4 is still here and was a fabulous companion for the North Coast 500. It's going nowhere The A2 of my drunken roffle win where I bought most of the tickets anyway and was gifted some more(thnks guys!) went to @320touring of this parish. I was able to drive around the coolant leak problem and the car in general didn't inspire me enough to pull the head off it to fix it. The MR2 engine swap was completed and did us well. It's also going nowhere, a suspension refresh is on the cards and some more track days are in its future This lovely old heap came and went. It went through an MOT with a bit of work and was a very pleasant way to plod about. The killer blow for me was the LPG system failing followed by my local LPG station closing. Shame, I did like this thing. As above it went to @NorthernMonkey who passed it to @barmatt, I'd be keen to hear how it's going? This little honey came and went fairly quickly. One owner, 26k. I passed it to a mate who still has it and it's still going well. In the search for a sensible commuter to keep the miles off the Audi I bought this. Octavia Scout 4x4 TDi-think Aldi Allroad. It was broken, I fixed it. i decided I didn't actually like it so it's for sale. Enter stage left sensible commuter no 2. Bought cheap with a noisy gearbox it's only done 63k miles. I serviced it, rebuilt the gearbox and apart from an ABS light and needing the backbox replaced it's pretty good. So I'll probably sell it. Oh and the Locost is still in my lockup and has been for over a year. I need to dig it out and sell it. I'm looking at you @gm... reb
Starting Balance: - 850 TDI (MavisNotMavis) - 205 1.8D - 850 2.5 10v (kind of) In: - 307 HDi - C2 1.6 GT Out: - Nil The dead 850 will hopefully be away in the near future, along with the 307, once any useful bits for the remaining living cars have been stripped. The C2 ideally needs to go too, though it needs a bit of work and an MOT. I need to find a set of wheels and tyres for it to be sold on as I want the GT alloys for the 205 for a set of semi-slicks to live on. It's quite amusing relaying that you have 5 cars registered in your name to a debt consolidation company, even moreso when they ask the total value and you tell them £1k max. Not least the amount of work they all need doing on a constant basis. Definitely 6 cars is my upper limit and the 7 I'm at becomes a strain. Not least one is a full resto job. Big difference from last year is that I (FINALLY) moved house and gained a proper place to work on cars in the garage. Shame my Mojo has significantly diminished since then 😕 I suspect in a years time I'll be cutting the fleet down. Not least to save costs.
