Dirty Habit Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 You want one of these and you can really scare the shite out of people....
Madman Of The People Posted March 20, 2011 Author Posted March 20, 2011 You want one of these and you can really scare the shite out of people.... Local cops here in Nashville run Chevrolet Impalas, although the State police use Ford Crown Vics. The local cops are a far more common sight. If you want to scare people round here, you need one of these..... .
chaseracer Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Pfffft! You want scary rear-view-mirror action, you want THIS:
dollywobbler Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Wow. That Peugeot is ace spotting! Not sure what to say about the bright yellow monstrosity. I'm still struggling to compute its hideousness.
Richard Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 The Fort Worth rozzers drive Crown Victorias but they look meaner than the one up there. 064 by RichardB5, on Flickr
Dirty Habit Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 You want one of these and you can really scare the shite out of people.... I got stopped more times driving that Crown Vic by the "real" Police than at any other time in forty years of driving Well it's just not the sort of thing you expect to see coming around the corner in England, is it?That 97 Crown Vic was a nicer car than the 2003 CV I have now, apart from the steering.
Madman Of The People Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 Haven't updated in a while. Here's some random spots. Buick Roadmaster on RIMZ!. Merc 240D. MG. Studebaker.
michiel Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Will you look at the size of that Studebaker, what a monster! Fab.
Madman Of The People Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 The bad news: The Rozzers are coming for you! The good news: They're driving a 1959 Edsel Ranger so they'll probably never catch you! ....
CreepingJesus Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I'd be grinning like that too, if I were driving the Stude! Is the Edsel abandoned, or merely parked up as some sort of display? The exterior shots look quite tidy for its' age, and yet the torn headlining in the last pic would suggest it hasn't been that well cared for after all.
oman5 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 I'm loving that Edsel. One of those in on my lottery wish list...but a convertible like in the Saga ads
eddyramrod Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 ^^Me too! My love of a black-and-white is pretty well known, I think; ditto my love of fins and chrome. The combination is just too enticing!
Shep Shepherd Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I wonder if that Edsel was a real police car? It looks basic enough inside, even though Edsel never offered an official police package on any of its cars.
Madman Of The People Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 Damn slow camera! This orange Lambo was on the move. Okay, it's not shite but it's still cool. As was this vintage Beetle, also too quick for my camera. 1982-85 Buick Riviera Cabrio in slightly dilapidated condition. Those aren't wire wheels, BTW. They're wire wheelcovers! They're original to the car and were quite popular on Yank Tanks of this era. Early 80s vintage Volvo 240 Estate. Note round sealed-beam US-spec headlamps. . Oldsmobile Cutlass cabrio. I don't like the wheels on this car. . Jaguar XJ-S in the rain. Some people think they're shite but I like 'em! Awful Hyundai Coupe. Evidently, a girl owns this shite pink 'n black Nissan Maxima. .
Captain Mainwaring Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 The 442 is the absolute SEX. Would be even better without the ghastly wheels.
Madman Of The People Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 Toyota Camry with very inappropriate-looking vinyl roof. I''m surprised the owner didn't go all the way and get wire-wheel hubcaps and whitewalls, too! Barbie's Beetle, by Mattelâ„¢ 1957 Chevy. Corvette Stingray. Notice how the Madman Volvo casts a very square shadow? Lucky bastard with a new Maserati. Not shite but very, very cool. 1929 Ford Model A Hot-Rod. ... 1981-84 US-built Volkswagen Rabbit (AKA Golf MK I). You don't see very many of these anymore. .. Chevrolet Chevy II Nova. A Chevrolet Chevette that still runs? Alert the media!!! Volkswagen T2 Pickup. Honda Civic "Ricer" shite. I heard this car several minutes before I saw it! And a rare over-the-shoulder shot through the rear window of the front of this monstrosity.
Madman Of The People Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 Ford Falcon. Need a dentist? See Dr. Buzz! . Saw some fat redneck driving this pile of shite. I shudder to think what this thing drives like. ... Plymouth Valiant. 1979 right-hand-drive Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, originally a UK car. New owner bought it in California. ....
AnthonyG Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Falcon and Valiant are lovely. Was the redneck actually driving that Mazda pick up like that ?
Guest Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Falcon and Valiant are lovely. Was the redneck actually driving that Mazda pick up like that ? I suspect it's on air, and was 'laying frame.' Or he's a fat wigga bastard and the chassis of the truck is permanently twisted.
eddyramrod Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 1957 Chevy. Now that's more like Rat Look. VW boyz take note! (and no apologies for reposting the pic... ) Surely that white Silver Shadow is a 76, not a 79? 79 would surely be a Silver Shadow 2, with the bigger bumpers etc. The number plate points to 76 too. Great to see these though, keep 'em coming!
Madman Of The People Posted June 26, 2011 Author Posted June 26, 2011 1957 Chevy. Surely that white Silver Shadow is a 76, not a 79? 79 would surely be a Silver Shadow 2, with the bigger bumpers etc. The number plate points to 76 too. Great to see these though, keep 'em coming! The mechanic working on it claimed it was a '79 but he was probably wrong. English wasn't his first language so there may have been some miscommunication!
Madman Of The People Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 More shite from the land of country music and Jack Daniels! Tasty Toyota Land Cruiser. Remember when Toyota made interesting cars? .. This Oldsmobile Delta 88 has seen better days. .. Anyone want a Ford LTD II Coupe? It's for sale! .. Chrysler 300 Pimpmobile! ..
Madman Of The People Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 Tasty Toyota Land Cruiser. Remember when Toyota made interesting cars? Erm, no. No I don't. Ripping off Land Rover wasn't interesting to me. Just boring, like almost everything of theirs has been and continues to be. They are the Japanese equivalent of Chevrolet except no muscle car heritage or major motorsports heritage, frickin' ho-hum. If Toyota disappeared tomorrow, I wouldn't notice for a couple months, until I would see my sister-in-law, and go, "Hey, where did the stupid box with the white lid go?" True, it is a blatant Land Rover rip-off. But it's still more interesting than anything they make today.
M'coli Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 They are the Japanese equivalent of Chevrolet except no muscle car heritage or major motorsports heritage, frickin' ho-hum.Of course, your continent never really "got" rallying, did it?!! Musclecars wouldn't really have been much good at them anyway - and no, I'm not having a dig at them, as the Merc 450 SL of the 70s wasn't the success that was hoped at the time unless it was on endurance events, so something bigger and heavier wouldn't have performed well either. They do turn left ok thought!
M'coli Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 That's my point precisely - the European branches of those corporations went rallying on the world stage, but the North American arm of each of those didn't. Major manufacturers only go into motorsport to get something back out, so we must assume that the US arms couldn't see that the investment made in rallying throughout the world with their domestic products would return the net worth that their subsidiaries achieved in doing so with their domestic products. So anyway, enlighten us on the FI that Bosch licensed for use. Is this a different system to the one used in aircraft that destroyed most of Clydebank?
Volksy Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Am I wrong in thinking that all the Subaru rally cars were originally developed by a small company here in the UK?
M'coli Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Hey, I didn't say that the US didn't go rallying, just that the general public thereof never "got" it, as in understood/enthused/cared about it.
Madman Of The People Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 More Shite from the Volunteer State. Merkur XR4Ti. AKA a German-built Ford Sierra with a turbocharged 2.3 litre four-pot sold in the US from 1985-89 through selected Lincoln-Mercury dealers. I once had a 1985 model in silver. Rare as hen's teeth today. ... Chevrolet Caprice coupe. .... Gotta love an old Land Rover! Series II is a rare sight in the US. ...... Buick LaCrosse with very inappropriate-looking vinyl roof. Porsche Panamera. Familiarity still hasn't improved it's looks. Massively expensive but still looks like shite. . WTF? This Camry seems to be owned by someone with a "unique" personality. Not a factory-original option. Have you seen Miranda? This was taped inside the Camry's rear window. Once again, WTF?
