Raffles
Realised this morning that I have been sitting on these gems for far too long so here is a selection from the last year or so... enjoy. Most of them were taken with the phone just in case you were thinking my camera is crap... First up... these two rusty hulks live next to my pa's Bedford TK This was mere yards from my house and very tidy it was too Ageing J-tat... ...no idea... clearly some kind of yank device ..VW camper shite in Hammersmith... ...more Hammersmith VW action... ...surprisingly rot-free Mk4 Scrote... I see the tinworm's started though... ...you wouldn't have Hammersmith down for being a shite haven... ..last up, a car made partly from wood. Crazy... r.welfare
Quality spots, I'll look out for that unusually-coloured Ghia X next time I'm in Reading.
Raffles
Quality spots, I'll look out for that unusually-coloured Ghia X next time I'm in Reading.I've seen it parked up around North Street (just round the corner from Wickes) a couple of times. It's a nice example, well, better than mine which today steadfastly refused to fire on more than 4 cylinders. Grrrrr.
r.welfare
Oh aye, my brother lives near there so I'll have a lookie next time I visit. There's a quality Hunter saloon in beige regularly seen down by the bus depot too.
Raffles
"Work" meant a day on the road recently and I scratched these two in (obviously my photographer needs some more practice) : and as a treat (for who, I don't know), I'm painting the inside of the garage at the moment. It gave me a chance to fire up my "investment" and stick it in the sun:
r.welfare
Heh, I saw that Cav Koop on the bay a wee while ago, being sold out Andover way. Think it was the same bloke selling that bought my Mk2 Cav last year.
Raffles
Only a couple more but one of them is a cracker... Nicely dented Ovlov in Tesco car park. Opposite it was a multi-shaded 205 that had seen better days but I bungled the photo. ...and this!
Mr_Bo11ox
Is that a dutton of some sort? Impossibly stylish whatever it is.
Raffles
It is indeed and I agree with your sentiment about it's styling.Sadly, that's about as much as I know... I have just noticed though that somebody has parked something nice out the back of my house. I'm off to get a snap...
Raffles
...and here it is. I am particularly pleased about the cardboard/insulating tape number plate.
outlaw118
That crapper is CLAAAAAASSS!The Dutton - possibly a "Beneto"? It's a Cortina/Sierra underneath.
Split_Pin
This Dutton looks even more unusual as they normally used doors from a MK1 Escort (or MK2 estate also) but this one appears to have doors from a MK2 Saloon. Edit - just noticed the windscreen looks vaguely MK2 ish also.Love the window lourves on the Capri

Raffles
Got some juicy tat for you folks today... Seen on the A40 heading towards the Cotswolds at a respectable rate of knots: ...found this down the road from my house. It is in such a state, I had to take a second picture. Awesome. ...found this whilst doing the shopping a week or so ago... ..and this yesterday morning. Seen one before but can't remember much about them? r.welfare
Renault GTA, normally a lovely looking machine with a mid-mounted R25 V6, either normally-aspirated or turbo. Shame about the bodykit on that one!Awesome Mk2 Scrote spot.
Raffles
Awesome Mk2 Scrote spot.I gave the owner a nod as we passed. Probably made his day...
Mr_Bo11ox
That Renner GTA has been quite literally mutilated with that vile kit. Bring back hanging!
mk2_craig
...found this whilst doing the shopping a week or so ago... Can't read the boot badges... It's not a Charmant is it?
MrRegieRitmo
It's that Carina that looks like a Charmant isn't it?
garycox
What's a Charmant?! Sorry, I've not heard of it, must be rare...I thought it was a Carina...Looks a bit like a squared off Mk 2 Cavalier from that angle...
MrRegieRitmo
What's a Charmant?! Sorry, I've not heard of it, must be rare..... It's ok Hirst isn't around, the coast is clear. I'll inform you that a Daihatsu Charmant is an early 80s mid size saloon of the highest order & that if Hirst was around here right now he'd be spitting hob nobs at the thought that they have passed you by! MrRegieRitmo
I give you Hirst's Daihatsu Charmant..... They do seem to be spin offs of early 80s Toyota Carinas or just bear a close resemblance to them.
r.welfare
The Charmant is actually Corolla-based, but I will agree that it and the Carina TA40 look pretty similar...

garycox
When you said Charmant I ws thinking Daihatsu...Might just be because it sounds a bit like Charade though...
Raffles
Holy thread revival Batman! As this thread approaches two whole years without an update I have returned. By way of an update, still daily driving the Vectra, sold the Granada and the Cavalier then bought the Cavalier back and SORN'd it. Still got one more car than I need, phew. Anyway, my roving reporter returned from Brazil today and lo and behold, these landed in my Inbox this afternoon. He clearly had his eye in on this day:
