Nice to see the 'fuze of rational debate' lit about here....

I'm sure the ATF cooler will continue to do as good a job as it might, in any event - age not playing a significant role in that.... Plakkie/leaky rads KILL trannies 😲.

These 'flat twin' wipers, standard on Astra... going by forum browsing 🙄...

They are $hit on AVAS >> stutter and drum (it was raining when we were out yesterday) and clear fairly well on upsweep/smear like chipfat on the downstroke 😵‍💫.

The 'great skip in the sky' beckoned.... However, I couldn't find 'plain blade' replacements locally... eBay doesn't help because if they don't fit then your in the 'return loop' 😕

B&M to the rescue 🚀

I had bought crappy RAC 'branded' blades there in the past.... They came with a Lego kit of adapters!!

As luck will have it, they seem to be Destocking their wipers = odd mixup of end-of-line with reduction stickers 👍

I got my 18" for £1:50, but 22" is still full price £8:00. £9:50 still seems a good deal ♥️

Well... In Mr Getz & SuziQ the boots were so small it was a neat fit 👍

..... It is currently clattering back n forth in the estate rear 😕.

A bungy has been procured, lash down loops popped up & we now have a real tight rein on all the goodies.... I have stashed my Hi Viz weather jacket in the bungy too, all nice n tight now 😎

Just dropped off the Trannie Cooler, job on for Wed.

The lad who is doing it agrees it's wise & we chatted about crimping the orphaned trannie alloy pipes [into the rad core] because, should the dreaded core fail in future, all my coolant won't trickle out redundant Trannie pipe ports.

He has done the job before... and on Citroens.

Just settling down for a hefty bill 😐

Oof!! Another 'mind how you go, marrer' passing event earlier 😯..

Cruised up behind a tractor/trailer, out in the boonies behind Lanchester, doing 35.

I scanned the horizon.. clear to go.. buried the pedal and just 'hit takeoff mode' >> in basically the rigs length I was doing 80 from 35 🚀

Hmmm.... 🙄

My garage rang to say they can't finish AVAS today cos, as of 1 PM, the belt kits hadn't arrived 🤬.

To continue the drama... no laughing, there... they are doing OK on the Trannie Cooler >> have the front off + drilling holes for fabbing up tin bracketry ✔️.... 😵‍💫 .... however, the rubber hoses on Trannie &or tails on Cooler aren't enough to meet = some hose/connectors may need sourcing [£££ oh oh.. ] "Really?", says I .... "Try two lengths of copper pipe and snipp to length" .....

Tomorrow is another day #GWTW

As a 'side issue'.... 😎.... NOW the belts are refreshed I'm not so coy about using 'Launch Control' from lights, on urban clearways.

Lip blade spoiler.... V2.0 😎

I have gutted the shiny blade, melting the glue + peeling off the inner membrane. This now allows the shiny outer to flex/flatten fully.

I'm going to nip the leading edge - after heating up with SWMBO hairdryer - and Gclamp twixt two flat planks.... Inducing a permanent 'flat' land 👍

I will of course be fitting & finessing before '3M Tape' day 🚀♥️

Does anyone know if AVAS has 'old world' rear/reverse 12V bulb wiring... Or the CanBus mojo 😕.

I'm an 'old fogey' but parking by braille is not my preferred M.O. 👍

..... Home thru Penrith, down A66 off at Bowes, Bp Auk, past old Black & Decker factory and onto A1(M) to Teams....

Stretched AVAS legs a little, with all new belts now on 👍.... I understand the Z18XER is a 'Rev Monster' (not even pushed the [SPORTS] button!).

I've frightened myself with 🚀 gobs of *surely not, officer!* alarmingly illegal needle pointing >> and it's not wound up to 4k 😯.

Firmly in the 'walk quietly and carry a big stick' zone of competence 😎

PAS sounds like a washing machine, yes TADTS.... However, it's marking it's territory in the street outside = ZF fluid to be bought & investigations to be made 🙄

I found out (reversing out at the pub, after Sunday's Lunch) one of the tail lights is out. I understand these Astra sense bulb voltages.. and will flag up a duffer 🤔. It seems the bulb out 'flag' pops up when you fire up/switch off but I haven't noticed it 😐..

New PAIR of tail lights going in tomorrow 👍
