Jack_Harpers_Teeth
Yes yet another pass Mr S. Baker-Hawke. NSX I think this is only the second one I have seen, as you rightly say they don't appear that often. The engine on this example sounded very high reving, reminded me of the similar noise you hear from Honda's muliticylinder motorcycles of an earlier era. trigger
I drove a NSX once as one came in for some work from the Honda dealer, It wasn't anything amazing, no different then a Mitsubishi 3000 GT or Nissan 300 ZX Twin Turbo, It was nice though especially when your only 19. Tayne
The Mercedes van is an MB 100. Built in Spain, not available in the UK as far as i know. I have only seen one locally, owned by a Dover based vehicle delivery company. Brian. This one turned up in Aberdeen a year or two back. brammy777
I saw that Montego yesterday when coming home from work, about 30 miles from Southampton, near Basingstoke. It certainly gets around, but it is pristine. Glad to see someone has spotted it! I want to see it stationary but it has to be garaged...

Jack_Harpers_Teeth
Love the old Transit pic! Yeah...see that front numberplate? Well it might be hanging on my garage wall now By Jove that van is rusty, all the seams of all the panels are like the bonnet - missing! you can see through it when looking from above what was once the sills. The site where it has been for the last umpteen years is due to be cleared so this is one of the last times it will be seen in it's present glory. I saw that Montego yesterday when coming home from work, about 30 miles from Southampton, near Basingstoke. It certainly gets around, but it is pristine. Glad to see someone has spotted it! I want to see it stationary but it has to be garaged... Sounds like it was a holiday maker then? I was hoping it was an island resident so I could spot it again. It was being driven rather carefully when I saw it.

Jack_Harpers_Teeth
Last update of the year for Shiters everywhere.... This is a Fleur de Lys Van: Made in Nottingham for some pastry company who wanted "period" vehicles to deliver their pies or summit or other. "Possibly the only vehicle ever to have its origins in a pie shop, the Fleur de Lys was the brainchild of Newark patisserie manufacturer, Andreas Liveras. Wishing to have his olde worlde produce delivered in suitably vintage vehicles but unable to find anyone who could make what he wanted, he decided to design and produce them himself. The result was Fleur de Lys Automobiles, established in 1983, who began to manufacture reproduction 1920s-style delivery vans from a purpose built factory in Newark. Today the vehicles are sold all over the world. The vans were designed by Len Terry, a leading engineer in the Lotus team which won the Formula One Championships in 1963 and 1965. They are built using traditional coachbuilding techniques but using modern materials and engineering standards. The doors, bonnet and mudguards are aluminium and period features include the specially built brass radiator cowl and die-cast aluminium artillery-type road wheels. The cab boasts a solid mahogany screen surround and solid brass fittings while an authentic-sounding klaxon completes the period feel. The suspension was developed by Len Terry to ensure good ride and steering feel. Proven Ford components are used throughout the vehicle and every van carried a Ford warranty from new. These vans make ideal promotional vehicles – Harrods, Kelloggs, Michelin, JVC, Walls, Castrol, Bang & Olufsen and Budweiser being just a few of the better known firms whose liveries have adorned them." (keef already has this image btw ) ^^ get a look at those arches! A privately owned MG6!!! A spotted topic wouldn't be complete without... That's all for this year. New Year..New Shite! cort16
Don't take it personally everyone was probably in tescos punching each other in the face over the last christmas roulard when you posted it. I always thought those vans where MK2 grannie based like a lot of the repro cruella deville type wedding cars you get. That mk3 escort is a rare thing too, I'd rather it was stock than the fake RS look mind you.
trigger
Nice to see another early Alto even though it's the Mk2 shape, I still think mines better looking though. There's also a privately owned MG6 that lives a few doors away from my in laws, I should get a photo i guess.
HillmanImp
Is that 2cv meant to be like that or is it one that someoen has just done themselves? Its brave parking a dayvan in a public car park like that. Or unusually, did it not have any women tied up in the back of it?
meggersdog
I always thought those Fleur de Lys things were based on a Sherpa chassis.Every day I learn something new on autoshite. I rather like that old crinkle grill Mini not sure about the side lights though.

GJR 11L
Nothing...not even a "fuck off and don't bother to post any more of your spots here again." Mate, the world would be a poorer place without your spots but just to make you feel happier:Fu.... hang about, phone ringing, be right back... I think that the H plate mini might be an eBay log book transplant job on a mid '80s shell (based on nothing more than the fact that 80% of them are these days ) but the special voices told me that its '60s-style Group 2 arches are much, much better than those awful ABS ones you see screwed to minis from the '80s. My favourite from all of that lot has to be the Suzuki Alto though. But it would be, 'cos 3 cylinder engines are the stuff of legend and I have oozed much man-Araldite over the idea of travelling a really long way every day in a car with 3 tiny cylinders. Oh wait.....

Mr_Bo11ox
GR12 spotting there JHT! That dolomite looks amazingly straight doesnt it. I thought those Fleur de lys things were a horrible lash-up but it sounds like they were a bit more competent than I gave them credit for. I like the sound of these cast alloy artillery wheels, I wonder if they're specially made for those vans. if so there must have been a mega tooling cost to get set up to make em.
