Top spots as ever. The Lancia is a Lybra, by the way.

Time for some more yet?

This was my first ever 'taken whilst in the driver's seat of a car' shot, though I was stopped at the lights, don't worry! I love the frightened child in the passenger seat.

Welcome to the 1970s. This pair got my flares in a twist. More from this place later

Crusty Nissan Datsun is the first I've seen. Earliest example of 'both badges' I know of too, I thought that didn't start until the transition in '83-84?

Also crusty. Nice colour

This is a proper old bus. Some men with a lawnmower stopped and stared at my car for ages when I was taking this. I think it was an 'approving stare' rather than a 'I'm gonna torch that' stare though

One for Ian_Bollox. First Mk2 I've ever been interested in, being amazingly straight and incredibly early. Nice tweedy beige interior on this one

Went to look at this localish Ten owned by an old rockabilly guy. Very nice original old smoker, I did have a punt it it ended up going for nearly double what I bid (and more than I paid for mine, which is in much better nick)

On the way to look at a Berkeley (which might be purchased soon, hopefully) I found this thing in a hedge. It's bloody electric! Pressed steel SERCKS too, deffo the 'big daddy' of number plates

WOW an Electric Sherpa!!! I have been wanting a dose of 'sherpes' for ages but have been been put off by how much carbon dioxide or whatever it is they burn. Now you can drive a Sherpa AND give a stuff about the environment.

These are some fucking mega spots like.

Is this a result of you getting further afield in your car? I would have thought that you would be less prolific now as I tend to get more shots when I am out and about on my bike as can easily stop and take a photo. Whjen I my cars I tend to either miss them or simply drive past thinking that I should have taken a photo of that.

TOP-TIP: When trespassing if someone ever comes up to you and says 'Do you kow you are on private property?' always reply 'No but if you sing it I will try and join in on the choruses'.

Posted

Yeah, that last update was all stuff outside of Brighton. Bikes are deffo the best form of transport for spotting, but after having missed a MINT early '80s gold Toyota Crown and a Fiat X/19 because I assumed they'd be there for ages I now try and stop to grab photos whenever I'm driving. Some of these are the result of pootling about bits of Sussex with the sole intention of spotting tat actually. Because that's how sad I am. Volvo/ Fiat etc are all stuff my boss knew of for years and he took me on a 'shite tour' around Surrey, I've now got him looking for knackered Hillman Avengers and whatnot in hedgerows all over the South of England.

I think I must have found virtually everything Brighton has to offer at this point, bar a pair of Bedford rugmuncher vans, one of which will hopefully feature in my next update...

If I've deduced/remembered correctly, the Marina, Trabbie and Daihatsu are on the same cul-de-sac, I went down that street last year, and the Marina seems to be rooted to that spot having looked again on google. Phase 2 Cinq on the Daihatsu's drive too, so clearly people who cherish their items.

Also, the darker of the XJSs has moved sites to Pulborough and on Tuesday was on a plinth next to a tranche of modern XKs. Remarked with a colleague at the time how nice (and early) it looked.

Really great spots. The chod must survive better in the softer southern air or something as you just don't see much of that kind of thing up here.

I think this counts as a MEGASPOT. Never seen a Jem before, but I've coveted them for years. Nice to see it tatty and well used. Full compliment of Cosmic centrecaps made me quite jealous

I went to possibly the dullest old car event of my life on Saturday, which was being held in the charming surroundings of an isolated trading estate down the end of a long single lane track. Luckily, there was a bit of tat lurking in various sheds and bushes to keep me amused

This is one of 12 Salukis built, and only two are known to survive. This isn't one of them. It's supposedly the motor show car, and I think there was another in the shed. So that's double the amount of Salukis known to exist this time last week.

I had missed the September updates on this. GR9 as always.

I have just spent half my lunch hour looking though the ebay tat thread using works t'interweb connection that is slower than dial up, wondering if the 626 is the one that was on Ebay last week as the 626 couple was pretty rare even new.

Finally found MichaelTs post on page 1010.

True, I cant remember when or if i've ever seen one

Fucksticks. I was meant to go out and get some brake pads for the Audi too.

Apparently there is one near the Fox and Hounds in Beckwithshaw near Leeds but I have not yet spotted it despite looking each time I am in the area.

Dreamshite stuff....excellent work all round.    FFS dont let on that Sno-Trac has a dub donk and as  a Hampshire domiciled Somerset fan (fuck all to do with cricket) I am so glad to see that Hants-plated A40 survive.  Hope it outlives the twonk that tried  to cube it.
