Mr Lobster
A super selection. That looks like it was a really good event. Agreed on 'rat look' as well. When it was first done to a few old Beetles and VW vans to make them look just old it was ok but now every twat thinks by nailing as much old shit to their car as possible that they are cool just makes them look like knobs. Spottedlaurel
It was indeed a good show. With the bus rally and lots of HGV's it was almost like several entirely separate events. It coincides with a day when Mrs SL is getting ready to be back at school so I take the children along and there's plenty to keep them entertained. Rides are a bit steep though at £2.50 each for them, meaning a fiver each time they wanted to do anything... Trigger's photos on here and Flickr show lots of cars I didn't notice, there was certainly a lot there. Inevitably there are some that I see regularly at local events, but plenty of new ones too, like the Sierra and Audi 100 Coupe.
Jon
Its amazing how Ford managed to recreate the actual taste of gruel in the colour of that Sierra. Is so bland its not actually a colour, its an anti colour, the opposite of colour. I suppose the owner can brag that he has a grey grille dangly mirrors Sierra though.... trigger
Another show update for you, This time it's from the small village of Little Clacton In Essex, This show is run by the Clacton classic car show every year, It's a pretty nice show really, They have some decent music playing all day, fair priced burgers and drinks and it's free entry for cars and only £3 for the public. For a Saturday show it wasn't a bad turn out, They wasn't a huge amount of cars but there was some interesting stuff which I hadn't seen before. The rest of the set is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/triggersca ... 857738311/ I hurt my leg walking past this Ginetta on a lump of shit in the paintwork, I think it was painted in a sand storm. It's nice to see a non messed about with Escort these days, Shame about the modern plates though. I wanted to take this Marina TC home and have it's babies, I think I'd even swap my Kadett for it if the owner asked. This was lush inall, It was totally original and unmessed with. How tidy is that! This was for sale for £8995 recently, It's not that nice, The gaps around the boot was miles out and it was was quite bubbly under the paintwork. This Daimler Double-Six Coupe rocked big time 1300cc of pure awesomeness. The Carlton to have, The 3.0 CDX Estate.
trigger
I loved this Cambridge, It was spotless and the colour really suited it. This must be the first Ant I've seen at a show, It was once a road sweeper but now converted to a pick up. According to the wooden plaque there was only 100 made and 6 remand?. Nice to see one of these there. Any reason to post this photo again! Beige Ital number 1 (see for sale thread) Beige Ital number 2, This must be very rare being a 2.0 HLS automatic, It's only done 33000 miles as well. I made the trader get out of the way to get some photos of this gem, It's based on the Pakistani cars he said. I loved the colour of this. The owner has just finished building this after 13 years, It was steaming a bit when it arrived.

eddyramrod
For a moment I thought the green one in the background was my old Cadillac, until I realised the C pillar was wrong. It's still a Cadillac, and still in that glorious Sage Green metallic; but probably a 1961, not a 62 which mine was. This was lush inall, It was totally original and unmessed with....And another anorak moment: if it was unmessed-with it would most likely NOT be wearing RoStyles. I'm pretty sure they were a standard fitting on the VX4/90 only. However it's possible they were an option on lower models; can anyone here confirm that? I was only 10 at the time... I'm not complaining, I like RoStyles, and they do suit this shape (and I badly want a set of Midget ones to put on my A40... ). Trigger, much appreciated! I don't know how I failed to notice this thread before, but I'm glad I've found it now.

garycox
Rostyles were VX4/90 only I believe. A lot of Ventoras now have them though, as the Ventora trims with the black centre have a tendancy to either fly off or spin round and cut the valve off if you're not careful.
