A super selection. That looks like it was a really good event.

Agreed on 'rat look' as well. When it was first done to a few old Beetles and VW vans to make them look just old it was ok but now every twat thinks by nailing as much old shit to their car as possible that they are cool just makes them look like knobs.

I agree with this totally, I know we're always on about on here but those cars look fucking shit, and not in the way they were intended to either.

Top pictures though - thanks!

It was indeed a good show. With the bus rally and lots of HGV's it was almost like several entirely separate events. It coincides with a day when Mrs SL is getting ready to be back at school so I take the children along and there's plenty to keep them entertained. Rides are a bit steep though at £2.50 each for them, meaning a fiver each time they wanted to do anything...

Trigger's photos on here and Flickr show lots of cars I didn't notice, there was certainly a lot there. Inevitably there are some that I see regularly at local events, but plenty of new ones too, like the Sierra and Audi 100 Coupe.

Its amazing how Ford managed to recreate the actual taste of gruel in the colour of that Sierra. Is so bland its not actually a colour, its an anti colour, the opposite of colour.

I suppose the owner can brag that he has a grey grille dangly mirrors Sierra though....

Another show update for you, This time it's from the small village of Little Clacton In Essex, This show is run by the Clacton classic car show every year, It's a pretty nice show really, They have some decent music playing all day, fair priced burgers and drinks and it's free entry for cars and only £3 for the public.

For a Saturday show it wasn't a bad turn out, They wasn't a huge amount of cars but there was some interesting stuff which I hadn't seen before.

The rest of the set is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/triggersca ... 857738311/

Ask for a tripod for christmas

I have got a Tripod, I'm just to lazy to take it!

Get a Gorillapod. You can use it as a small tripod or the legs bend so it will cling to fenceposts etc. Get a pikey Chinese remote off eBay for about £3 or use the self timer to avoid shaking the camera when you press the shutter.

For a moment I thought the green one in the background was my old Cadillac, until I realised the C pillar was wrong. It's still a Cadillac, and still in that glorious Sage Green metallic; but probably a 1961, not a 62 which mine was.

5001940686_674376396f_b.jpg

This was lush inall, It was totally original and unmessed with.

...And another anorak moment: if it was unmessed-with it would most likely NOT be wearing RoStyles. I'm pretty sure they were a standard fitting on the VX4/90 only. However it's possible they were an option on lower models; can anyone here confirm that? I was only 10 at the time... :D I'm not complaining, I like RoStyles, and they do suit this shape (and I badly want a set of Midget ones to put on my A40... ).

Trigger, much appreciated! I don't know how I failed to notice this thread before, but I'm glad I've found it now.

OMG it's show season time again!, This was my first one of the year and I've been quite excited by this, It was the East Anglian Practical Classic club run from Saxmundham Waitrose car park to the sunny seaside town of Aldeburgh which is about 15 minute drive away.

This Marina was saved from a local scrapyard, It had been raped of it's engine for a MGB.

Great pics as usual Trig. It's nice to see some original looking stuff instead of all the 'barry'd up' crap that seems to infiltrate a lot of shows now.

Talking of fish and chip shops, I went to one in Letchworth the other day. A mahoosive chinese bird was serving with long black hair.

When I got home, guess what was sitting on top of the chips....a long black hair, just curling at the edges.

BLEUGH!

Here's a selection of photos taken today at the Aldham Old Tyme Rallye in Colchester, This year was a bit of a disappointment, It's normally quite a good show but it felt a bit lacking today, Mind you the weather forecast wasn't GR8 and it is a Saturday.

It started with with a few military bits on display.
