Mrs6C
Jowett Javelins are lovely things. @Six-cylinder has always wanted one. He has come close to getting one a few times, but so far it hasn't happened. My grandparents used to have a grocer's shop and bought a Jowett Bradford van, the less handsome (but still pleasant) commercial sibling to the Javelin, for deliveries. My Dad took his driving test in it and was asked lots of questions about loading weights and other matters of commercial use, about which he hadn't a clue! He still passed though. Your Javelin looks great and what a nice history it has, too. Well done! 🙂 Six-cylinder

The Vicar
Torque converter was knocking its head off on the Wooley. No reverse or neutral the last few days; so this is how I’ve spent the day with my very patient ex-BMC engineer father: Joey spud, bigstraight6, auntiemaryscanary and 9 others

There is a guy about 2 hours from home in Northern Ireland who must have about 100 land crabs lying around his farm. I’ve gotten a few parts from him already, so when I went up to him again he had this box ready for me FOC, in the name of keeping another one on the road. alf892, Matty, Asimo and 12 others

The Vicar
Wolseley has been parked out of sight for a while, to preserve my own sanity. I’ll get back to it another time. In the meantime I’ve really been enjoying this. Left it with my dad last week to correctly set the points, adjust the brakes and just get it up to spec, and now I can positively say that it is motoring well. Really well: BeEP, Carl1981, Matty and 17 others

PhilA
2 hours ago, Matty said: Is it as straight as it looks? As straight as a javelin. Ideally needs red tartan rug for the front seat, to keep in matching. Had a knocking BW35 torque converter before- check it is tight to the flex plate, all the bolts on mine came loose. Tightened them up and the noise went away...
