they've known me long enough to realise that I really don't give a f#ck about appearances and won't join the rent a car mob.

That’s the case in my work, although I think they’re a bit worried about me now I own the XC90 as, as one of my colleagues put it tonight “it’s a bit normal isn’t it”

Like Ghosty… school car parks are not the final word in interesting cars.

I usually win oldest in the car park if I’m in the Saab, unless one of the TAs brings their P Reg Mazda Bongo. Other than that it’s an 03 plate Vauxhall Signum owned by our DT technician and a 2002 MR2 owned by one teachers… in the summer one of the assistant heads sometimes brings his 2000 Audi TT…

Mostly dull blobs from 2010 to the present day.

Come to think of it, my boss has an E92 M3 and a Clio 182 track car, but he's not on my site. He said he was glad to have another car person on the team.

Quite lucky for spottage at my place - too many to list but there's everything from Citroen AX to Maserati Quattroporte. I guess it helps working for a company full of petrolheads with enough mechanical knowledge to keep interesting cars on the road.

A few highlights are a GT6, Series Landy (multiple), E30 BMWs, Mk2 Golf GTIs, all Mks of MX5, Mk1 Escort, various early Minis, Cossie Sierra, 5.0 Mustang, even a quite good 6R4 rep occasionally!

At my last place, there was a bloke (who I never got round to speaking to) who brought this to work when we had our annual open day. Had to do a bit of googling to work out what it was 😉.  I believe a rally-prepped Porsche 356 that was often in the car park was also his.

A while ago I found some old photos from about 1988 taken at school with the carpark in the background.

What was a load of dull everyday stuff would cause palpations round here now.

Unfortunately I think I binned the pictures as part of a clear out.

Ones I remember and the owners subjects:

C reg basic Orion in maroon.

English.

C reg Capri Laser in white  English  -he kept it for years.

T reg Volvo 343 in brown.

Geography.

W reg mk2 Escort estate in beige.

Woodwork.

P reg MK3 Cortina in purple.

Games.

Y reg metro city in Champaign beige.

Physics.

B reg SJ410 soft top in black.

Biology.

X reg Ital in blue

Music.

D reg Toyota Tercel 4x4estate in brown.

Headmaster.

There was also an abandoned blue mk1 transit minibus and it's CF2 replacement sat alongside.

I remember my last junior school teacher had an orange MK3 Cortina and the head drive a doom blue Princess.

Shame I can't remember any of the stuff they tried to teach me.

Considering I work with a bunch of mechanics and bodyshop people I find our car park to be a bit dull. The only car of interest currently is a D reg Scirocco, which is a semi regular car.

In the summer we have one lady turn up in a really clean example of a XR3i (MK4 shape) which appears to have a dealer fit RS bodykit and the site manager occasionally brings in his Mk1 Escort which is a bit resto mod and sports a Cossie YB under the bonnet.

Spotted today by a colleague who parks in a different carpark:

I'll not-so-humbly say that my ute is one of the most interesting cars in my carpark. Other highlights include a very early Ford Galaxy, a Lincoln MKX, a Dodge Magnum R/T AWD estate, and a handful of modified Germans and Japs - some tasteful, some less so!

The guy who owns the company on the ground floor of our building has a lambo urus, bar being quite fucked looking up close it looks fun.

My Xsara, a 2002 Toyota Celica and Richard from finance's 2005 astra because A - that's how fucking grim the choices are for less than 2005ish (big gap then to cheap pcp cars) and B - it's in that nice dark metallic green and looks quite nice

We've got a couple, I'll get some pics next time.

Nice 406 estate HDi that's been pimped a bit, saw a 750i t'other day, bangle special one on about a 52 plate?

Looked rough on the paint but sounded nice, Polish lads were all over it.

There's a LDV camper that I think lives there semi permanently and loads of battered Zafiras from our Goan friends who make full use of the 7 seats daily.

Some nice newer stuff as well, director has an eqe Merc thing that is fast.

Other than my own efforts, the oldest thing in our carpark is my mate’s late Jeep XJ Cherokee. It’s a real Trigger’s broom that needs constant work just to get him to work. He’d fit in well here as he just bought another one for spares that is being dismantled in his back garden.

The next best thing we’ve got is an early 2000s Hilux that belongs to one of the truck drivers.
