RetroShite
With a couple of 505's inbound I needed to clear a bit of space at the garage to accommodate them so decided to raffle off the Belmont. Unsurprisingly there wasn't much initial interest and ticket sales were low even with the addition of a shite moped as a runner up prize so I decided to chuck another car in there as an option which seemed to help and it was sold out at the start of the weekend. The winner decided he wanted the Camry and travelled up from Manchester this morning to collect it. He was thrilled to have won and seemed very happy with the car, whether or not he'll keep it is another story but it's his to do as he pleases. I'm quite sad to see it go, it's been a relatively reliable back up car for the last couple of years but it was being used less and less so maybe it was a good time to move it on. We picked a winner for the shitty moped and that'll hopefully be going tomorrow. I'm happy enough to keep the Belmont for now although I'm sure some people will expect I should raffle it for free since it is still here. Ged also sold his Saab and has made a start on removing the engine from the xantia so has freed up a couple of more spaces so there's no real pressure to get rid of stuff. I think it might be good to have a break from raffling cars and start to focus on our retro car meets. I have been offered a MK1 golf to raffle so might buy it and flog it in the summer months. I could be wrong but I reckon this will be a popular one. Nyphur, Shite Ron, privatewire and 11 others

RetroShite
Another step through acquired, always wanted to try the Yamaha version with shaft drive and 4 speed gearbox. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to the c90 and v80. Semi-C, mk2_craig, Clunk and 7 others

RetroShite
We had a race between the townmate and c90. The c90 won no bother. For some reason it feels faster than my 1990's 12v C90. I'm seriously considering selling the yamahas and buying another c90 so that me and the mrs can go out on them together. Bren
A bog seat. I remember going on the back of my mates when we were at school ( he took it on the local wasteland ). Once word spread round school he had one he suddenly had lots of mates.

CrapCarNerd
How does the Escort compare to the Belmont? I knew I should have entered that raffle... would have gone nicely with my Mk3 Escort 😂 . The Golf looks great!!

They are both shit in their own special ways, the escort is easier to get started and is quite fun to rally around the back roads but it's quite noisy in the cabin. The belmont is quite a similar driving experience but not as road noisy inside.
RetroShite
We had our monthly retro car meet this morning and 5 cars turned up that I owned previously with 4 of them being ones I had raffled off. It was nice to see the people getting some use out of them and enjoying the ownership of them. dome, Hogie, Coprolalia and 14 others
RetroShite
Inadvertently created a cruise at Fife leisure park when I made up a joke event on Facebook stating there would be shit cars, slags and burnouts. a few old cars turned up along with the dregs of society in their chavviest shitboxes. Horrible atmosphere with people bouncing their cars off the limiter, racing around public car parks and generally just being dicks. I only created the event because people moaned about excluding post 1997 cars from our retro car meets so decided to make an inclusive event for everyone to attend. I didn't really expect anyone to actually turn up because the people originally moaning about being excluded I told to fuck off if they weren't happy. RetroShite
The v zero 505 arrived last week, there's no engine, gearbox, prop or diff so it's destined to be used for spares to keep the other 505's going. Also picked up another red c90, it's a little bit quicker than the green c90 as it has the lifan 110cc engine fitted with 4 speed box but there's really not much in it. Both are a lot quicker than the v80 which tops out at 40 and the Honda's at 50mph.. Also gave the other 504 a quick rinse in preparation for taking photos for selling it. Not entirely sure whether to keep hold of it or sell, it's needing welding in some areas but is better than the other 504 in other areas. Tempted to at least swap the gearbox into my other to make it a 5 speed. I will have another 305 van incoming soon as well as an xud9te so planning on fitting that at some point in the future. Also been potentially offered a swap for the Belmont, a 1.7 diesel 13 plate astra van. I never really use the Belmont especially since buying a MK4 escort and think an astra van might be easier to sell. Rustybullethole
Just scanned back through to see if you have a link for stuff you raffle off? Ain’t on don’t/won’t do Facebook maybe it’s on there you may have said I’ve the memory of a fish. This pic more than any takes me back to childhood, late 80s early 90s. Can hear folk moaning about ‘jellymoulds’ and transits with no bonnet and windows down to your knees. Vauxhall were right at the forefront with plastic fronted cars for me. We were piss poor at the time though got freebie hand me down motors from a neighbour who was running a night time delivery service and doing quite well with it. He had to change his cars a fair bit and my dad would cart us about in them till they expired needing more money thrown at them than they were worth. RetroShite
Belmont is away! Straight swap for an Astra van. 2012 1.7 turbo diesel with 6 speed gearbox. Drives fine. Not entirely sure what I'll do with it, might actually keep it for a while solely because I can't be bothered dealing with idiots on marketplace. RetroShite
Puddlethumpers 305 van should be arriving here at some point. I just picked up an xud9te this weekend and should have enough spares from my gold 305 to cobble something together. I would very much like to convert it to right hand drive. The engine came from a green xantia I bought from tickman a few years ago and had sold on. The car was written off when someone crashed into it at a crossroads and the engine removed to go into a 309 that I also previously owned. I only really found out about the availability of the engine when my escorts tyre exploded and the person who came to help near forfar mentioned it. mercedade, Tickman, Cavcraft and 7 others

RetroShite
Advertised this little Yamaha T80 on marketplace this week, really shouldn't have bothered as I've just had to deal with complete fuckwits all week. It's a running restoration project. I paid £450 for it and only really wanted to sell it because I bought a couple of honda c90's. I didn't receive any documents or a registration number when I picked it up but a quick message and £5 to "vin to reg" and I have a registration number. I think it'll be best just to apply for the paperwork and keep hold of it. Cavcraft and Tickman
