grizz Posted September 29, 2025 Author Posted September 29, 2025 10 hours ago, 93fxdl said: Whats up with the electric start? Ttfn Glenn So??? Progresss?? Hmmmmmm….?? What a question ehh. Take a look in here and tell me what next. Starter switch is non functional. Clutch and front brakes do not even move. Assuming rusted clogged cables. Rear brake pedal and mechanism missing altogether. Weirdly , only one brake drum fitted to right rear wheel. Left has nothing. Looks like it had a “park brake” associated with rear wheel and a cable and catch associated with front brake lever. Other than that……. I need three or four hands to get easy start sprayed into carburetor mouth and throttle fingered. Go see in this short video and tell me what next. .
93fxdl Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Btidge starter relay eith a screwdriver or similar. Since you know the engine will fire, clean the carb and try running it on a test bottle. Douse all linkages and mechanisms wth some penatrant Ttfn Glenn

It’s alive !!! i think jets and various parts are blocked and gunked up from 10 years of storage. 300cc 6261 mile engine, shaft drive rear end and probably 4x4 box up front, along with part of the chassis, seat, tank will be up for sale soon. I will be keeping the front end, brakes, steering and front wheels Short version. Longer full description video. I know many prefer three second videos. grizz Posted October 1, 2025 Author Posted October 1, 2025 Visited an old (in both ways) friend yesterday. Drove off with a lovely bashing, metal forming stump and a load of body and paint stuff he was going to burn. Including about 4 liters of thinners in two 4 liter cans. Free cash when it presents freely is always a good thing. . GlenAnderson, 93fxdl, SilverMachine and 1 other 4

grizz Posted October 2, 2025 Author Posted October 2, 2025 One of those days yesterday. Busy as anything but kinda feeling like not much achieved. Got the quad into hover mode on a low trolley and wrapped it up, covered in plastic until I have got both Chevy truck bedsides straightened, bare metal and fillered and primed. This needs doing before winter to prevent rust, get primer to go off well. I also rediscovered a spare unused paint gun which I had hidden from myself a few years ago when @disasterbus Kerry had dropped off a load of “stuff” including this gun and other accessories. I also worked on repairing a small keyring knife for Pedro that had lost its “pivot nut and bolt” making up a small rivet for it that may last a day, week, month, year, forever?? Then last night he gifted me with a brand new one (he could have discarded his broken one) as he knows I have a real thing for knives as tools (not necessarily as weapons) I also had a date at 1.00pm about 12 miles from home to collect a three wheel bike. Why?? Hell, I don’t know but Pedro already rode it last night 😂 Plan is to clean it up a bit and put it up for sale. Look at the prices they are advertised for. Even at £100.00 it would see me making money. I am hoping to make the new winter build as cheap as possible by making this sort of trade up and selling random junk. On the way home, I impulsively dropped in to my local MOT station to see if I could book it in for a yearly test which is due by 30 October but you can present it up to 4 weeks before. As I got to the counter, the lady took a telephonic cancellation for 1.30pm which was 10 minutes away. Perfect. So I took the appointment with zero preparation. I usually clean my cars and check everything before they go for the test. Well, an hour later……. Renault Scenic - PASS !! I guess I could have expected that as I look after my cars. But a nice result. For dinner I grilled some “Boerewors” which you need to have a Google or AI search for. I know that @boblon would live it. It was really good. Best on a real fire BBQ and I shared half with Pedro who is a significant carnivore. Today I am running around with some chores and meeting s buer of a Spokey Joe at my local station 6 miles from here as he was going to cycle to my house to collect the trailer. Once I get back…….. Hammer time. Thanks for checking in. . Westbay and 666jjp 2
Westbay Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 The knife reminds me of a friend who retired to Spain, took himself of to his first live Spanish football match, not knowing who to support just enjoyed the game. Come half time the old boy sat next to him pulls out a large knife (Norman a little anxiuos fearing he had cheered the wrong team) and a 'huge' sausage, cuts a chunk of the sausage and hands it to Norman with a grunt and nod ! grizz 1
grizz Posted October 2, 2025 Author Posted October 2, 2025 Pedros broken knife sorted . Made a new rivet and sharpened the blade. Sure he will be pleased. . Westbay and 93fxdl 2
grizz Posted October 3, 2025 Author Posted October 3, 2025 Junk. Remember the various tins and containers of paint, reducer, thinners, hardener etc that I got from Kevin Kelly?? I transferred all the thinners into one 5 liter drum to use as gun cleaner. So suddenly had these empties and not so empty to get rid of. My brother had the foresight of making a real 📦 suggestion. So another day spent doing something that would take me back over 50 years. Report later. Almost the weekend. . Jenson Velcro 1

grizz Posted October 4, 2025 Author Posted October 4, 2025 You know that saying “you can choose your friends but not your family? My brother @dozer saw all the empty 5 liter cans that came out of the paint score this week and made a real 📦 suggestion. Of course I had been playing with the idea for a few years (in fact, I have had a cleaned out vintage oil can set aside) but never quite felt the urge to spend a day bashing junk, despite doing it every day. So I selected one. Removed one end. Made it safer. 🩸 🩸🩸🩸😂 Rummaged in the woodwork shed Found half a pine shelf Brought it out, cut it up Made some bits fit the hole, tightly. Grinder cut a new hole Shaped and made it safe 🩸🩸🩸🩸😂 Made and shaped a long piece. Assembled it all. Drilled some holes, added rivets. Drilled some holes, added some screws Made some tuning pegs, carefully. Fitted them. Tightly slit n drilled. Added some fitted bridges. And stepped back……. Thinking “helluva way to waste time” Building an oil can guitar. Strings Fitting next. Fishing line to start with Or maybe some real ones, if I find them. Video: Not mine. Obviously. https://youtu.be/ZE3f5wVURHk?si=EIKEMdjzz2M4GBKc https://youtu.be/gmP--FfLlb4?si=gTg1ht0J0MmqjOhe And a three string, unamplified song. https://youtube.com/shorts/makG58WstDQ?si=XY2XeimLZw49QguK .
